This past weekend saw the occurrence of the IFSC Bouldering World Cup at the 2011 Teva Mountain Games in Vail, Colorado.

At 09:00 on Friday the 3rd of June 2011 the female qualification stage kicked off, followed by the men's qualifications at 14:00 on the same day.

On Saturday the 4th June at 10:00 the semi-finals began which was then followed up at 17:00 by the finals.

The competition had an impressive list of climbers from all around the world, with Daniel Woods representing America again this year, after having placed first in the 2010 event. Over-all there were 27 competitors from the United States taking part in the competition, two of these making it onto the list of the final 12.

The event was broadcast live online through IFSC.tv.

Daniel Woods failed to produce the magic that he did last year and the first place went to Austrian Kilian Fischhuber - in fact there were no Americans on the men's final 6.

For the Females, Austrian Anna Stohr bettered her 2nd place result that she achieved last year and managed to get her hands on the well deserved gold this year around.

It was definitely an impressive performance by Austria, taking first place for both the male and female sections of the competition.

Top final 6 places for each gender classification are as follows:

Men's Results

Kilian Fischhuber (AUT)
Dmitry Sharafutdinov (RUS)
Jonas Baumann (GER)
Rei Sugimoto (JPN)
Guillaume Glairon Mondet (FRA)
Chris Webb-Parsons (AUS)

Women's Results

Anna Stohr (AUT)
Alex Puccio (USA)
Melissa Le Neve (FRA)
Jain K.im (KOR)
Akiyo Noguchi (JPN)
Angie Payne (USA)
