"The Teton Boulder Project is a grass-roots partnership between the Town of Jackson, Teton County Parks and Recreation Department and the Teton climbing community to create a bouldering park at the base of Snow King Mountain in downtown Jackson. The Teton Boulder Project will honor the history of Teton climbing, commemorate departed Jackson Hole climbers, and provide unique climbing opportunities for children, families and climbers of all levels.

To date, the TBP has raised has raised $244,000, three-quarters of our fundraising goal of $300,000-enough to break ground, begin site work, and purchase the first and largest of the three climbing boulders. But the Kid's Boulder, which will introduce children to bouldering, and provide a training venue where climbers can practice raises and lowers, belay escapes, setting up natural anchors, and other safety techniques, is currently not funded.

Want to help make the Kid's Boulder a reality? All you have to do is vote for it. Go to http://www.refresheverything.com/tetonboulderproject and vote for the idea. Your vote will contribute to Teton climbing!"

Currently placed at 192nd with only another week of voting to go, I encourage you to help out your fellow climbers.

The Teton Boulder Project has the following mission:

1. To honor the historical role of the Tetons in North American mountaineering.

2. To remember Jackson Hole climbers who have died in the Tetons and abroad.

3. To inspire children, families and visitors alike with a singular climbing experience.

And come to the groundbreaking! Wed., Aug. 11, at Phil Baux Park at the base of Snow King Mountain, we'll stick a shovel in the ground and get started. We've got enough for all the site work and the first of the boulders. Free beer and burgers for all! http://www.facebook.com/tetonboulderproject
