Millet Celebrates 60 Years
Millet Celebrates 60 Years of Alpine Experience and Innovation.
June 1950: MILLET enters mountaineering legend.
On a French expedition to scale ANNAPURNA (8,091m), the first-ever mountain backpack reached the celebrated, iconic “roof of the world” on the shoulders of Louis Lachenal – and it was a MILLET!
March 1987: Winter Alpine Trilogy. French mountaineers and MILLET technical advisers Christophe Profit and Eric Escoffier, operating at the height of their powers, race to be first to achieve the ultimate exploit of the late 20th century: to solo-climb, in a continuous sequence, the classic north faces of the Eiger, the Matterhorn and Les Grandes Jorasses. This trilogy, which Christophe Profit finally accomplished in 40 hours, totally revolutionised alpinism, and gave birth to the Modern Alpine Style that remains the benchmark today.
2010: A birthday to celebrate 60 years of experience and innovation. In a tribute to these two unforgettable deeds, which indelibly marked mountain history, we proudly present the TRILOGY LIMITED™ range, which epitomises our values of performance, commitment and innovation.
Featuring new GORE-TEX® and WINDSTOPPER® fabrics that roll back the limits of innovation, ultra-technical constructions, radically sporty cuts, committed styling, and eco-designed materials.
To envision the future daily, equipped with unique experience but still moved by the emotion shared over the years, is truly a rare privilege.
