I was there recently. Views are amazing. Very overgrown with brush. If you go, I would recommend taking some of those big garden sheers.
---------------
Directions:
Follow Temescal Canyon Road to its end just north of Sunset Boulevard and park in the $7 pay lot (bring cash) or on Sunset blvd. at the intersection. There are some signs in the parking lots showing trails. Head north through a conference center and follow signs for the waterfall tail or the viewpoint trail, both with lead you to the stones.

I took the waterfall trail, it is a little less steep.

The waterfall trail folllows the west side of temescal creek and crosses to the east just past the second of two debris basins about five minutes up the canyon. Recross the creek at 1.3 miles near a small waterfall and follow the steepening trail up switchbacks to the ridge crest. You will join up with the Viewpoint trail after the steep switchbacks, continue heading up. Amazing panoramic views at this point.

Continue another five minutes along the ridge crest and the prominent Skull rock will become visible on your left. This very scenic hike is 2.1 miles one way and takes about 40 minutes.
---------------------------------
Visible from the top of skull rock to the SW are many other small and large boulders with routes V0-V3. There is a lead route on Mega boulder, the biggest one you'll see, and a few TR's. Harder routes have not been established.

The rock is great Sandstone, a little better than Stoney Point in my opinion. There are a few great caves, traverses and routes all around. Some boulders are very difficult, if not impossible, to get to at the moment due to over growth. Take some tools to cut away some brush to make life easier. I have to take off my crash pad and throw it ahead of me to get through.

A fun place to explore with many routes to establish.
