Aside from climbing, I'm an avid snowboarder, wakeboarding, and also into art too; like photography and pencil sketching. But climbing still ranks number one.

Extreme backcountry ski descents quickdraw with a 45 Don't do these anymore since I can climb anytime I want now but they do approach the intensity of experience that I get from climbing. Making love to a woman is like this but I wouldn't call it a sport.

Skydiving ! Blue skies... Running, flying RC airplanes, collecting G.I. Joes, playing drums and guitar, military history, trying to write, watching other people climb what I can't (pretty much everything but a 5.1) and playing with tonka toys.

hmmm....I love great sex. I like beer too. Then maybe whitewater rafting, canyoneering, wandering about the American Southwest having random adventures in mountains and deserts. But of course all of the above pales in comparison for my love of climbing. Well, except maybe the sex part

I enjoy racing crew, and being out on the water. My team won a silver medal racing on the Houstanic River in Connecticut. Very fond of sailing ,been to Newport Rhode Island and enjoyed sailing J-24's. Also racing motor boats. Have gone tuna fishing off the coast of Montauk Have also gone canoeing on the Delaware Water Gap,down rapids. Of course played tennis,squash,cycling.running.skiing,horse-back riding,swimming,ice-skating,and playing tag. As long as the company is good it really doesn't matter what your doing, right???

Running, mountain biking, and weight lifting sport wise. I'm also into computers (as a hobby and as a job) cars (as a hobby, and I have much to learn) and travel just about anywhere. Oh yeah, I read alot too. (well, about climbing anyways. Contrary to what my gf says, Rock&Ice and Climbing do in fact count as fine literature.) :P  Brian

Sports: Caving, Backpacking, Snow Jumping (winter sport where we would pile snow up into huge piles, loosly of course, and jump off of the roof into it. I do not recommend trying this. Many of us got broken legs as a result), sled riding (I'm not coordinated enough to ski), Running. Other: Singing, Carpentry, Building and programming computers, Trivia (NTN at your local bar. Also, the Great Guinness Toast is this friday. Join in The World's Largest Simultaneous Toast)

Before I started climbing I was the biggest hiking/backing bum. I hiked all over the swamps of LA, the AT in 2 states, hiked all thru TX, ME, UT, AR & CO. I guess I never really got all of that wandering around by myself out of my system. So aside from climbing I still love backpacking, camping and hiking, especially across mountain passes! The difference between then and now though is that I always carry my climbing shoes with me just in case an opportunity should arise to climb along the way.

Occaisionally, I climb 13'ers and 14'ers. I hike. I mountain bike. I have only been snowboarding a couple of times. Flyfishing. Wakeboarding and kneeboarding. Jetskiing.

Well, I love to ski!!!!!!!!!!!! I also workout and walk a lot. I like softball and swimming, although I don't do it very often. I also love horseback riding, however I am currently without a horse. Photography, scrapbooking, and reading are my non-sports activities. Oh, I love to drive, does that count? I'll take a road trip anyday as long as I can drive part of it. :)

I like most anything outdoors, primarily: backpacking, hiking, caving, canyoneering, frisbee golf (it's golf without the snobbiness, fat wallet, and cheesy pants) camping, and sand volleyball. I also love music, reading, & chess. As for indoor sports I like basketball. Well, and of course I enjoy beer & good sex, but not in that order.

Second to climbing? I have a few other things I love but they change in priority depending on my mood (here in no particular order): 1. Being with my daughter. 2. Mountain Biking (not too much any more). 3. Computer programming. 4. Building scale model roller coasters and rolling ball sculpures. 5. Art 6. Building things in general. I also used to fly planes which was way cool to do. Dave

Like most of you I like just about anything outdoors. I am most active in hiking, biking (mostly mtb) and rock climbing. I am also new to snowboarding this year and hope to put aside some time to go XC skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking (white & open water) and more serious mountaieering. It's going to be a fun year! T@D

Besides climbing, which is becoming a definite love of mine, I also go SCUBA diving about 5 times a year. I am a marine science major here at USC so that explains that fascination. I also spend the free time that i'm not climbing either working out trying to find something to do outdoors. I think its a common consensus that the majority, if not all climbers, just love purely being outside in the crisp, clean, air!!! Nothing beats it :!:

Sticking with the outdoor theme (I see rock climbing as an OUTDOOR thing), I love to backpack. Why? Because I love the outdoors, and its a great way to get upclose and personal with it.

Golf with a few good cigars, cold beer, solid friends. I dive quite a bit as well, check this, by far one of the most amazing sitings I have had under water happened today. I was in 100 ft of water, but only 60 ft deep, moving with the current, I saw some shadows on my right, and Five huge Humpback Whales swam right by me, It sounds sketchy as I right this but I am not kidding, The closest one was no more than 15 ft. My heart was pounding, I felt about 1 inch tall, those guys were HUGE! I am still in awe and this happend about 11AM. Also Mountain Biking, Hiking.... Yea anything outdoors, What a life! What a world! Bill

wow, those humpbacks sound cool, I havnt had an experience that enormous, but the other week I was snorkling (in South Australia) and a stingray (not a manta ray) swam underneath me that was at least 6-8 feet across and about 9 or 10 feet long (not including tail) it was huge, quite scary at first but then I realised it was quite benign and was really very graceful and beautiful.

Not trying to make this a diving post, but i have to tell my fellow divers how awesome those experiences are, especially the one with humpbacks... the coolest thing i've seen so far was a group of sand tiger sharks(N.C.) and a pregnant 9 foot nurse shark down in the Keys. Anyways...back to some climbing posts. Oh yeah, I'm jealous of you being able to dive/snorkel in Australia.

Well, first and waaaaay foremost, I love my wife, then climbing. Climbing isn't life, just a part of it. After that, I would say skiing. Then camping. Then video games and beer.

Not including climbing, windsurfing is probably number 1. It also gives the forarms and back a hell of a workout. Then snowboarding, scrambling, mountain biking, and whatever else I can do outside.

I guess you can say I enjoy everything. My apartment here a college is filled with stuff for mt. biking, climbing, hiking, cross-country skiing, tennis, golf, baseball, and volleyball. I am on the Minnesota State University men's volleyball team. So basically I always have something to do.

Travel. Being in Europe is great for climbing but also for the different perspective on society and history, exploring the Alhambra in Granada or going wine tasting in Provence is way cooler than hanging out at the K-Mart in Yucca Valley Also reading books, just read Swann's Way by Proust, good if you're approaching middle age, as is Lolita by Nabokov but for opposite reasons...

In reply to: Oh yeah, wishing it was June so I would have graduated from my stupid high school. Everybody there doesn't like clibing, how much does that suck. I'm with you on that! I think hating high school should be a competition sport, I know I'd be good at it... anyway, im also into other outdoor sports; mountain biking, skiing, backpacking, kayaking on occasion. I'm also a competitive fencer. Like sword-fighting fencing. It's fun. I wonder if there's any other climber-fencers out there?

hmm... -researching and writing on nonfiction, usually historical subjects (I have to say that, since it's dominating my life right now) -cooking and baking -playing guitar in jazz and rock groups. -anything in the canyon country of southeastern Utah. since most of that area is outdoors, I inevitably have to do "outdoorsy" stuff to see the country. horseback, rappelling, backpacking, 4x4 driving, river-running, or whatever. But by God, I will not do that in an area other than southern Utah. I don't canyoneer, because the term sounds like an elitist catchphrase.

Besides climbing, some sports I enjoy include... Windsurfing (preferably in the waves down in Baja). Surfing (as long as it's > 3' and decent form) Kitesurfing (when it's not windy enough to wavesail...which is quite often here in San Diego) Sailing XC mtn biking (I'm "oldschool" in that I like to EARN my downhills) Freediving (and spearfishing) Snowboarding Frisbee golf (all the frustration of real golf without the expense. Plus, I can take my dog!) and my newest love...Slacklining (a great way to improve your balance)

 <-- making my eyes look like this from too much computer-work. really, though: surfing, surfing, surfing!, snowboarding, swimming, running, cycling (alone, and in combination) beach volleyball in the summer, waterskiing, ice hockey, kayaking, wrestling, anything outside& away from civilization, having beers in the sunshine, makin' luvvv... but i digress. roadtrips and rest-days make great opportunities for these fine activities! Yay, summer!!!

I can agree with extrasports....Long Range Shooting is by far something exciting to do. You may wonder why in the world is it exciting??? When your able to knock a hole in middle of a paper target at 250 yds, you'll know why. -Chris- p.s.-it's even better when your women can do the same! :P

I really enjoy an intense game of racquetball ever once in a while. I also enjoy going for a late night swim at the pool that I work at, as long as the police don't come and ruin the party. Back in high school I played football, soccer, wrestled, and ran the hurdles.

HEHE, I replied and answered with Shooting Guns but I reminded myself how much more I love running for my life after lighting a 2 foot fuse that will rock the entire neighboorhood. (Pipe Bombs) I just love making explosives. Anything from M.R.E. heaters all the way to my cannon. If i can make my ears ring for a day or 2, then I know I'm having fun.
