In reply to: Holy GOD!! Has it been awhile since I have been here. HELLO EVERYONE!! After 2 heart surgeries, a year to recover, some physical therapy, then a car accident, some more therapy, and finally some recovery training, I think I am getting back into the swing of things pending some biblical unfortunate paradox! I was going to be moving to GA with my company...didn't happen....then TX....didn't happen either...now I just go there sometimes when necessssary....anyway, I am going to be doing some climbing this fall (my season, I hate the heat) around the gunks, ralph stover, looking to check out allamuchy (NJ), and another run at Devils Pulpit...yes the place with the approach from hell, and not very good climbing to begin with, but the camping is fun, and that is where I discoverd climbing at the ripe age of 14. I will post back here when I am going to be heding out, and those intgerested in coming along please send a complete profile with picture, I am looking for woman, blonde, blue eyes, tight jeans, white tank top, cowboy hat, and high heels...hahaha with a nice rack! C'mon I meant climbing rack people!!!! holy cow dude, glad to hear you are doing better. I'd like to take up the offer of going up to the pulpit with you for some climbing and or camping along the side. I might die from the approach but oh well, who ever wins? hit me up or post up when you plan on going...

Going to Bauer Rock this afternoon, probably around 4. I'll be working on a section of routes if you make a left as soon as you see the huge painted rocks. Follow the trail down and I'll be there. Hope to see some peeps out there.... Chris

Hi All: I'm in search of a weeknight gym training partner in Philadelphia. I've been sport and trad climbing for about 7 years in various parts of the world. However I've effectively been on an enforced leave of absence for the last 1 1/2 of those, due to a very demanding work schedule that hasn't left me much of either nights or weekends. Anyone who's potentially interested, feel free to get in touch by e-mail to idl1975 *at* hotmail, with an appropriate subject line. Thanks! Ian

Hey guys I used to live in kOP and wanted to think what you guys thinks about the climbing down there. I moved to MA and noticed that the climbing gyms up here are on a whole new level compaired to the gyms down in PA. I wanted to generate some ideas for gyms in more areas in PA, mainly in the Main line Area. I know a couple guys that take the commue to PRG to climb weeknights and was wondering what you guys would say to a Gym in Media/Mainline area. I know there are some gyms in Downingtown and haven't been to them, but from the picks it isn't that impressive. I was keeping my eyes open for gyms more like , www.metrorock.com http://www.bostonrockgym.com http://www.njrockgym.com/ And if the demand is there http://www.touchstoneclimbing.com/ http://www.carabiners.com/ Facilities that offer a much larger variety and different facilites within the gym(Yoga, Massage therapy, fitness, cardo spa, ect...) Let me knwo what you guys think about this feel free to tell me im an idiot too.

my feeling with all the other stuff mentioned... spa, yoga, etc... is that the facility loses its focus on climbing. It becomes just a commercialized draw as a cutting-edge sport, which, IMO breads the worst-nightmare gym rat that doesn't (b/c he likely passed the climbing on his way to the weight-lighting gym) have a clue about what real climbing is.

good points, but a lot of women like yoga. if you can encourage cross-over, it would be a public service to climbing. 8^)
