In reply to: zeke, you should be able to get cloves on your positrons and quicksilvers no problem. good to know...I'm basically a clove hitch (i.e. trad) nOOb. but you knew that already :) yeah, I just love the Positron, and, you're right, the bigger ones aren't necessarily stronger. I need a few more. well, that and almost everything else.

In reply to: I agree with you... I've actually been surprised that Petzl doesn't make a Spirit locker. I've actually seen a couple on ebay before.

I don't think there's a spirit locker, but the Am'D http://en.petzl.com/...roduit_Image_580.jpg Clove hitches work on superfly's. And you can tighten them if you're scared to loosen it. I use them to build the anchor (on the few occasions when we need a full-blown clean anchor). Anyhow I personally use an keylock autolock biner especially for when the anchor becomes a clusterfuck, and a biner that's different from everythign else on the anchor. It makes sense to have keylock locking biners, because those will be for example clipped on bolts with chains or whavever, and snagging the notch is a pain. Larger lockers often hold 30kN (6,600lbs?) instead of 24~25kN.

Ok, there's more brands, like OP, metolius, simond... that need checking but I'm not doing it.
