Went to shoot some sporting clays today. Fun time despite having a hard time seeing the birds. Amy, I looked up and found you will be on the other side of the state too. Let us know if you find otherwise. I think I would like to go climbing this coming weekend, but I am not hopeful. We have had some bad weather lately. Dan

Amy, I'd suggest posting to the PA Climbers thread, as well. IIRC, the Western PA Climbers Forum started because the PA Climbers thread was very eastern-oriented. It looks like charley put in a plug for you, but it can't hurt to introduce yourself. Good luck finding a partner.

I went to the mill today. It was 28 degrees. The rock was cold. Ross boulder is snow covered. Any rock that was close to level had snow on it. The whole sunshine wall was snow covered. I did some traversing in the canyon on the upper side of island block. A large area is overhung enough to stay clear of snow. The bottom of peter pan was clear also. By the time I got to h&r block my shoes had gotten damp and slipped a cpl times so I backed off. I had a fun time. :D

I am in Texas at my GF's house. We will go climbing somewhere today and Friday. I am hoping for Enchanted Rock both days. Though, local Austin Rock areas are possibilities. It is 62 degrees and dry. Perfect weather! I will be back in cold weather starting next week. Hopefully, I can still go somewhere in Western MD this coming week. I really enjoy going to new and different areas. I hope despite the weather that all of you are still having fun. Dan

Dan, I went to reimers ranch last year and had a good time. Reimers has alot of one pitch sport as easy as 5.5 and the access is fairly easy. I heard it was sold to the county and climbing was still going to be ok. Let me know what you hear. Er is more trad climbing . Have fun and enjoy the weather. When do you get back?

Reimer's Ranch is still open to climbing, but it is a slightly longer drive from here. I found 2 guidebooks to it. I will be going there when I have more time overall. All to often, I am having to do what others are planning for me. This perfect weather and lack of other activities is driving me crazy. I will get back in pgh around Jan 5, but I will be in TX only until Monday. I didn't make it out yesterday. I am still hoping for ER today and tomorrow and RR on Saturday.

I was at the mill three out of the last six days. The weather was lousy every other day but I was on the rock the other days. Today the sun was even out. I saw my shadow on the rock!! I have been bouldering on the uphill side of island block. In addition to the traverseing the're are at least three overhangs. The easiest is 5.4 and the hardest is the 5.10 start for step across. Ross was still damp just after noon but climable. Most routes are too wet yet for a rope. It felt goooood to be down there all alone starting the year out with some climbing. Take care and cya all when it gets nicer.

I made it to enchanted rocks twice before christmas. I had a lot of fun teaching my girlfriends about placements. I also did a little ( :) ) bit of climbing. The weather was perfect. The day we left texas the temperature hit 86. Anyways, enough about the great weather that isn't here. I can't go out today. I see the forecast says 50% chance of snow tomorrow. If things look better I might call. Otherwise, I hope you have fun. Dan

Yeah, I end up making it out for a bit on Wed. I tried going to beams to boulder but the road up the park but it was too icy, so figured go up 30 past ski resort. Easy? Nah, i get the whole way back up the mountain and after I get past the ski resort; no path; nothing, just all of sudden ice. Sweet. So I bouldered up on 130 past lycypuss. The two bigger rocks were too wet, but a nice little 11 foot boulder with lots of nice grips and a little over hang was dry enough. The sun was shining not too cold, good times. They're calling for half way decent weather next week in upper 40s at least. Any body down for Sunday maybe, if weather agrees. Thinking Break neck early morning: Steelers play at 430. Have a good one. All the Dude ever wanted was his rug back. Jeffry Lebowski

Anyone interested in some bouldering at the mill tomrrw? When it warms up, like 35 - 40, in the winter, can you climb tr routes at lost crag or krahlic? Most of the time you can only boulder because the routes will have snow or wetness on them at the mill. Of course some or most of my bouldering is the bottom of routes. Anyone interested in a brand new wired #6 hex. I bought the wrong size and now I have 2. By the time I pay shipping to exchage it, I might as well sell it. If you are interested pm me.

That is to say, meeting at 10am in Pittsburgh. According to Google, that puts us in Lisbon around 11:30.

Howdy all. Hows it hanging? Krahlic is probably way too icy to even get back to still. Never been to Lost Crag. Break Neck should be good though for some top roping! Any one down? Steelers start winning at 430! So have to get out early enough to get back for drinking(game) time. I got rope and everything, just need two quick draws, not real good natural anchors but Tim set up some good bolts! Thanks Tim! If anyone is interested give me a call 724-799-5396. Have a good One. Goooo Steeelers! Dude your phone's ringing.

Those are some adrenline heavy hobbies. Bill, we missed you at Logtown. Matt bumped someone with his car, and then I missed a turn. So, we arrived at about 12:15. Hopefully you hadn't gotten tired of waiting and left. We had a lot of fun. I am looking forward to going back several times.
