notapplicable wrote: notapplicable wrote: sungam wrote: notapplicable wrote: It's settled, going to Franklin on Sun. and Mon. for a bolt clippin spree. Probably going to take the rack though. It's limestone so most of the routes are standard fare but there is a horizontal body length roof split by a thin hands crack. It's in the mid 11's so I doubt it'll go but I've had my eye on it for awhile so I might as well give it a try. FUCK YEAH! Dude, get awn that shit! Got on...fell off...got on...fell off...got on...fell off...got on...fell off...FAIL! It was an interesting route though and definitely the hardest gear route that I've fallen all over. The one place I found route info. calls it .11d The bottom 25 foot is probably the worst 5.6 chosspile I've climbed over and gear is hopeless so it's a default solo and then you are instantly on solid, smooth, dead vertical limestone that runs another 15-20 foot to the roof. From the ground the crack splitting it's center looks like perfect hands but I got a rude thin hands/off fingers awakening when I tried to milk those first few jams. Only being able to fit 2" past the third knuckle of my hand was not a good sign. The guy I had roped in to working it with me pulls down a bit harder than I do though, so I decided to get the gear in and give her a go. I nested up 2 good cams and one decent one (What, it's my first leading on limestone!), slung them long and pulled out on to the clean 9 foot roof. I made it two moves. My second go wasn't much better. At that point I came down and Ben pulled the rope to have his onsight ish attempt. I was hoping he would crush but he only made it one move beyond what I did before he was airborn. After that we took turns making minor gains but neither of us got even one hand over the lip. It was pretty brutal. I had fun but I was definitely struggling to shoulder my pack with one arm at the end of the day... Sounds like a blast!

This is correct You just think so because she used the word moan. I think it's cuz that was the first time her heard a girl* moan for a long time. Bazinga! *or guy, this is NA we're talking about.

You know, now that I think about it, that was the strongest I've been... the most I climbed in any year was 97 and 98, coinciding with my Canada trip... only time I've been close to that ability was just before I moved to the States... hmmmmmm... obvious pattern...
