I have climbed nude, well I was naked with a chock bag stratically placed. I lived in Alaska and had come to Phoenix to warm up and climb some real rock. I was sunbathing on the rocks below the East Wall of Pinnacle Peak. Two groups of climbers came up and began to have a nasty fight as to what were the proper ethics. Chalk, no chalk, shoes, no shoes, Friends were mechanical aid devices so cannot be considered to be part of Free climbing. This crap went on until they were screaming at each other over some really stupid shit. I finally got up, put on my chalk bag and walked past them and soloed the 5.6 they were sitting beneath. I said as I walked up that the only pure climbing was to climb naked. I had no shoes on and I was doing pretty good until I got about 60 feet up and got my big toe stuck. IT really was, "Balls, to the wall" on that bit.
Since then I have climbed once wearing only a harness, shoes, chalk bag and gear sling. We did the Mace near Sedona. Ken Akers shot photos of all of us which included 3 girls. We did a mini photo shoot on the top. It was quite fun, but you do have to watch out especially in grindy off widths, like those on the top of the Mace.
ON the big walls of Yosemite, I've belayed naked except for the harness. So did the other guy and girls with us. We were all down from Alaska trying to get as much of tan as we could to last the winter up there.
Off topic, I read in another forum about girls getting their hair in the belay. I've seen literally dozens of times with both guys and girls. But I've also seen and helped rescue women that got a breast in the rappell device. The shirt sucked in along with some skin. People all want to know if it was cool to see her breasts. Sick! It was not cool she was screaming as anyone would with a sensitive peice of skin being pinched till it bled.

I was up at the Sespe near Santa Barbara California doing a day climb and a bit of swimming. Being in nature and the necessity to dry my wet shorts and the heat got me to do a little nude swimming. After that I proceeded to climb this three move route with a cool heel hook... nude. Not a pretty picture is it? Don't think about it... oh yeah... its on video tape to. I would offer you to see it but I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to so I am not offering it.

As far as the naked skydiving goes:
Trust me, the harness hurts like hell on opening shock, and certain parts of your anatomy will vibrate wildly in freefall...guys and gals. I wouldn't recommened it.
However, this thread did make me think about a couple of out of the way climbs at RRocks that my girl haven't tried yet....and we're off tomarrow...

Yes, I was bouldering at the beach on a hot day in a sun-trap. The shirt came off, the pants came off, before I finished I was nekkid, kept my shoes on though. I found it most enjoyable, but covered up when I heard the sound of approaching voices. Why was that? I'm not ashamed of my body, but convention has an iron grip on us all :wink:

Do a search on purple pointing, it was a thread that got a bit interesting before it died, but relevant to your post. I always climb with a purple helmet................... even when nekkid :twisted:

This is a very interesting topic and unfortuently i haven't had the pleasure of doing it even though there is a place close to my house. Yet one thing that i notice is how many of these posts are by guys...it would be coool to hear from all of the girls out there on the matter. :D

Yeah, I did it back in the 70's when streaking was in.
The most memerable climb was the Serpentine, a 3 pitch 5.9 face climb on Suicide Rock in So.Cal.
We got an early start to avoid having to strip infront of a bunch of people but by the end of the first picth we had attacted a pretty good size crowd of hikers with cameras.
Never had any accidents but I remember being paranoid about falling above my pro and catching my yaya on the way down.

A few years back the cover of Boulderdash (a regional climbing mag) featured a shot of a guy ice climbing in the nude (brrr!)
The belayer was quoted as saying that the view was pretty grotesque.

i don't know why the girls are not replying. When i started this thread, i was just tryng to understand why someone does it, and what kind of an experience it is for them
