I'd be totally down with that. Serious. Time frame? well, I'd do whenever. Just want to hear what folks think. The only time I might be able to go would be over the Thanksgiving break but money might be an issue. I'd have to look at tickets and some other factors. Probably going to have to pass on Chico. What aboot Hueco? Anyone wanna meet there this winter? I just checked flights for mid-december and they are running around $310 - $ 430. Not bad really. What kind of time frame are you thinking? And I'm far more interested in the roped stuff than the bouldering so that could work out. I feel like not many in this thread will be into the bouldering... Bouldering bores me stupid... although a place like Hueco, with all it's ramped up to be, could get me interested with the shear quantity of V0-V2 problems. The roped stuff looks great... perhaps a little run-out in places, but plenty to do, especially on Nth Mountain. NA, I've heard holiday times can be really packed, so I was thinking post-new year.... maybe even late Jan-early Feb. Either that or before Turkey day, which is kind of soon. Going to Hueco and not bouldering is kind of like going to a strip club and just playing billiards in the back room but I just can't summon the will to care about the pebbles. I really do want to hit Hueco at some point though. Early next year would make it a much more realistic trip to take in terms of cash and vacation time for me. I'm already dipping in to unpaid time for this year, which is fine with me but somewhat less so with the boss man. Late Jan. - early Feb. would be something I can/will commit to if any of you guys are serious. Depending on what happening with school, my brother might be interested as well. Yeah, I have a bit on the end of this year. I'm also heading to E-Rock end Oct, then with Turkey day and Dec being busy season everywhere, end of Jan is our/my best bet. Also, our Nepal trip isn't going to work out. We decided we could only do one major trip next calendar year, and we have decided to head back to Aus for a visit. My grandparents are getting quite old and I haven't seen them for five years at least (one of my grandmothers nine years). We can always organise a trip to Nepal... time is running low for the oldies.

Yeah, I know, that's a flawed formula, but there's no reason for me to not be there. Besides, a few years ago my doctor and I were chatting about weight in general, and he said that most people stop growing at about age 18. he also said that was the weight at which our bodies had grown to handle, so whatever I weighed at 18 (150lbs) was the weight my body was supposedly meant to handle. Damn... well I was about 78 kg but I also hadn't begun climbing yet, so an additional 5kg on that should be good for me. So yeah, I need to lose 15 more pounds. 15lbs isn't so bad really.

It's a time of year thing, plus it would double our costs, since we were joining a trek/climb organized by one of my good friends in October. We also want to make use of the dwindling summer days at the end of March in Aus.

Didn't get on some at Josh a couple years ago? stuck to da cracks. they protected well for what I got on. For runnout slab, might I suggest RAF and Swing low in Echo Cove. Also Stitcher Quits, aka Black Tide, on Echo Rock. Joshua Tree. If you are really feeling it, go for Crater Maker at Big Rock. 100 feet, 2 bolts, last bolt is 40 foot up. Don't crater. *drool* Sounds like I need to make a trip to Josh. I've only done Stichter Quits out of those mentioned. It's actually fairly featured in places, but the crux is pretty slick. Lotsa great slab/face in JTree though. For a good crack with PG13 pro, Sphincter Quits is also good climb/play on words. Yea Sticher Quits is quite reasonable. The crux is well protected, and up higher the climb gets easy. Well featured rock as Zeke notes.

My goal is to lose 20 lbs by Christmas... once the woody is complete, which is now under construction, I should be able to get some decent workouts done during the week. skinny? I sure as hell don't feel or look it. OK, so I don't have the huge gut, but I'm not skinny like I want to be. I'd love to be around 150lbs. You wanna weigh 150? It's easy! Just look in the mirror and say "You're so fat", repeat at least 10 times. Once you're done, put your finger as far back into your mouth as possible, tickle your tonsils for best results.

But how did that work out for you? Looks like I gots about 40 pages to catch up on. Woa I have 20 and am putting my foot down. I don't know what that will mean, but I'm doing it. In other news I saw your freinds pictures on stalkbook of there climb/traverse, Mt Sill et al. Good job on their end. Very stout climb, no doubt. I was talking to a friend about this earlier tonight and decided that I'm going to have to suck it up and join the Stalkbook. I never had any use for it or Facespace before so I could justify staying away but between this^^ and the fact that the new guys use it to flesh out the climbing plans, which I only find out about last minute due to me being so far behind the times with just having the cellphone and all , it might actually serve a purpose now. Jennifers take is that I'm just a crotchety old man; made all the worse by me hanging out the college kids here lately. She seemed to find it all rather amusing. Wow. Did you do it yet? I did sign up actually. Haven't done anything with the account yet though. Freind us Noa! Do it NOa!

How well do they hold up outdoors. I got a small spot I'd like to make one in.

Actually thats BS. Yea, I'm bullsh!t on your doctor. At 18 you generally stop getting taller. I was dead skinny 6-4 170 at 18. Now i'm 230, should be 210. My shoulders and chest cavity are much broader than 18. Loose the weight around the middle yes, but no way I should be 170. [/end rant]

It'll be four 4x8 ply sheets, set horizontally, to make a 8 foot wide, 16 foot high bouldering wall. I had a friend come over that has built some climbing walls and is in construction to give me some tips. We'll be supporting it against a large tree at hopefully a 20-30 degree constant overhang. I'll see how the weather affects it eventually, but maybe I'll make some kind of roofing for the top or the back of the wall. I already have about 100 holds ready to go up.
