After flipping through the "How was YOUR year" thread, I was thinking rather than post unsubstantiated lists of accomplishments in all the exotic places I travelled to this year (like the furthest corners of my yard), I thought it would be better to poll for what's on the ticklist for next year (why wait for New Year's to make resolutions). With the prospect of pulling plastic for the next couple of months, I need something to live for. I'll go first: Yosemite Spring '07 - my first big wall attempt Joe

Well I'm planning a few days off in April to go somewhere to climb. I'm thinking either Yosemite or JTree. I plan on making a few more trips to Smith as well as Bulo Point, Rooster Rock, Broughton's Bluff, Beacon Rock, etc. I also have a week off in July for my birthday so I may take another trip somewhere. I'd like to get out as much as possible but don't know how often that will be depending on partners/rides/time. Edit: I would also like to learn how to trad and aid climb sometime before July but we'll see how that goes.

Yeah! That's better!!! Now that Im back to climbing, every nice weekend will be spent at The New. My big trips include Tennessee for New Years weekend, J-Tree in April for my birthday and Squamish, BC for a few weeks in the summer. Ann Arbor through the winter to train on lead and endurance. And my goal is to be comfortable on high 10's to mid 11's. ...aaaaaaaaaaaaand, GO!

NICE! Hmmm....actually I'm right in the middle of trying to figure out where to go next year. Maybe you guys can help. Here is the deal. I'll be able to get a month off in the spring and one in the fall. Plus the odd week here and there. I want to climb and surf, maybe ride my bike. I've spent the last few springs and falls mostly in the Southwest...based out of vegas. It's getting a bit Old. Open to other countries. Money isn't a huge issue, but I'm still a dirt bag at heart! So please give me some ideas!!! So far i'm planning on a 5 day zion trip in feb. and maybe one to the fishers. josh

Next year: Well, since my work upped vacation time to 4 weeks, and up to 2 weeks of banked overtime on top of that, I have a lot of time to play with! The trip plan is as follows: Winter - Learn to follow ice competently. 3rd Week of February - VEGAS BABY! Want to do Solar Slab, Crimson Chrysales, and maybe a few more. We'll see :D. April - Official start of rock season, start getting out for Sport on Saturday, trad on Yam on Sunday. May - Possibly another road trip; devils tower? :D :D. Continue sport climbing, move off to other bluffs for trad climbing, valley view, etc. June - Back of the Lake Season!!! Hit the normal bluffs hard, but also focus attention of Kalaidascope Wall. Do Castle Mountain in the last week of June. July - More Back of the Lake, and polish off a few routes on my tick list: NE Ridge of Ha Ling, Joy, Tower of Babel, Directicima on Yam. August - Gettin' bored of Back of the LAke! Try and get on an Alpine route or two, Eidith Cavell perhaps?? Last week of Auguest - Another Road trip, City of Rocks this time :D. September - Wrap it up with lots of sport climbing. At the end of the summer, I intend to trad 5.10a/b and send 5.11a clean on sport. I can't wait (too bad it's only november:( ).

Next year What's wrong with the rest of this year? Seriously, some of you people need to move elsewhere. ....and the climbing season's just begun in Yosemite as far as I'm conserned. Ever been there in Winter? No tourists, plenty of room in Camp 4, no stay limit (at least no one's checking) sunny, warm enough, popular walls filled with the silence of seclusion. Everyone's gone home to their gyms.....suckers!

My only plan is I have to learn trad next year. I will be in San Diego in March. Anywhere to climb around there?? I'm pretty much trapped at these local PA crags.

Colorado aint so bad, it's the Colo-RAD-guys that make me a bit queasy. My tentative plans for next year are a little bit above my wildest dreams. It's definately a year that I'll never forget.

By 3 months into the year I want to have lead Mr. Slate and Through the Looking Glass both 11a (sport), which I'm fairly close to doing already, but this is just a tenative plan. By six months in I want to be solid on low 11's and leading 9's on gear. Sometime over the next year I want to make it out to Hueco atleast once again snd down to El Potrero Chico. Short and sweet for you.

We will see what happens, but the current hope is as follows: 1. as many of the california 14'ers as possible 2. atleast a handful of days on california ice (not great, but it works), hopefully getting to the point where i can lead. 3. a trip to JTree, Castle Crags, and Smith Rocks 4. quite a few weekends at Lover's Leap 5. the big thing: Peru-july 2007 anyone want to join on goals 1-4? (sorry, 5 is out of my hands) cheers, have a great coming year (and an amazing last month of 2006)

I'd mostly just like to push my horizons a bit. I'd like to get to high 10s, low 11s on sport, and get some experience with trad. If possible, I'd also like to find some folks to do some alpine with ... assuming I can deal with the problems of living at low altitude, being subject to some mild but catastrophic to climbing altitude sickness, and being severely undergeared to do anything too difficult. Hoping to spend some time on the copious amounts of rock within a couple hours of LA, and sample as much of it as possible. And, of course, find lots of new people to climb with.

How about this to piss everyone off. I have from January to December, but no fixed plans yet. Places I am likely to visit are Potrero, Flag, Bishop, Indian Creek, Yosemite, Smith, Squamish, Maple, Wyoming, RRG... well, you get the idea. Not a lot of money, but I make up for it in time.
