That's a good climb! I actually find the descent to be quite thrilling. I'd do it again just to get off the climb! Oh. Is it a good climb? I haven't actually done it. It definitely is, but the downclimb is better. Felt like 5.7ish solo then feet first under a narrow opening under a huge boulder with a serious drop down that you have to stem across. It was pretty awesome. Best downclimb I've ever done!

I was feeling pretty manly at the gym this morning, working my V5 proj. This little hottie came in dressed in short shorts, which made things even better. (I knew she wanted me.) But then she stepped up to my proj, casually climbed up it, and then down it, and then up and down it again. Then she moved on to the steeper area to send some V-double digits. Talk about shrinkage. Fucking bitch. Constantly having my ego destroyed by hot bitches. That is what annoys me.

1. When I drop something 2. When a partner loses their lid and becomes a liability on a long route.

When I spend all week at work allowing panic and stress to wash over me as the only means to break incessant climbing daydreams with the idea that it'll all be worth it when I get to the weekend--the light at the end of my dark yuppy tunnel--when I'll break loose and push my boundary ever closer to The Answer via tradventure and the F'ing weather rolls in and pisses on every one of my prospective destinations...again!

Sometimes I'm annoyed at how much time it requires to stay in shape. Between kids and work it's hard to find the time to stay fit enough to climb at the level that I've gotten used to.
USnavy wrote: What annoys you more then anything when climbing? Poor belayers, warm gyms, loose rock, ect. My number one annoyance is unreliable partners. Stand me up three times and you get deleted from my phone. That simple.

Few things that annoy me: #1. People that wish they could go climbing but always forget to make time to actually go climbing. #2. People that either PM me or email me, around midnight on Thursday to tell me that "Something came up" and they can't go climbing on Friday. #3. Dishonesty annoys me the most, as in saying "I can lead 5.9" but then they fall off of 5.6 #4. People that pretend to know something about climbing but get super pissed off when you correct them. #5. People that panic. BTW. 3 times is way to generous if you ask me, once is enough.

I thought that this was the "answer the op honestly" thread. I actually get frustrated that I get weaker so fast if I don't have time to climb for a week or two. My accustomed level could be 5.4, how is that spraying? Do you have self confidence issues that you need some help with?

That no one I climb with seems as motivated, and I'm always the one having to plan everything, work around other's schedules--and am always the one to get let down. That's what happens when you try to make climbers out of your friends.

1. strangers that spray beta (i can sort of tolerate it from friends) 2. people that bring radios to the crag (this has happened to me several times at different areas) 3. people that want to rappel down the route that i want to climb up(this has only happened once, but it was a big group of hardcore rappelers going down the one climb that i showed up to get on) 4. people who chop bolts i guess the only thing(s) that bother me about climbing is other people. . .

sycamore wrote: That's what happens when you try to make climbers out of your friends. True. If you can get it ti 'stick' with just one, JUST ONE, you're well ahead of the curve. But its generally easier to make friends with a climber than is it to make a climber out of a friend. Cheers DMT ps. I got climbing to stick to two friends - one who gave it up for caving when I left (I was indeed the motivator) and another who is still my go-to climbing partner after 20 years. However in his case we were introduced by a mutual friend who know I climbed and knew my partner would be a natural at it. And he was....... (climbing high above the rest?) (Talking Heads) DMT
