What grammatical error is in your post?:

Perhaps you could explain where exactly racism came into this.

These guys got stuck and were rescued. Maybe they would have gotten stuck had they not been drinking and smoking out, but in either case they sound stupid to me. I personally don't correlate pot smoking while climbing to being stupid as lots of my partners do and perform just fine, but waking up and drinking before and during a climb like this certainly is.

Just stupid.

Thanks for the story and the personal touch Trann.

Your post is weak and without detail. I was in the valley the night this happened. The story around camp was missing too many specifics for anyone to judge. Instead of flaunting your option on others behavior how about getting the full story before posting your judgment.

I could see how drinking might have played a factor in their misfortune, however a daily smoker that gets high before a climb is not as affected as your average non smoker.

Placing pot smokers in this category just demonstrates your ignorance.

Its like taking advice about climbing from someone who has never roped up or bouldered in their life, its just stupid and uninformed.

Not being a member of any minority I'm not highly qualified to answer that but I suspect it's because you called into question the writing ability/skills of a college graduate who is some kind of teacher. I think it's reaching.Crazy

I have nothing against someone smoking or drinking but never on the other end of my rope. Come back to camp then blasted your brains to your hearts content.

Methamphetamine is the most powerful performance enhancing drug that is readily available. You will climb at least a full number grade harder on meth.

Climbers stuck in the Lost Arrow notch.

R.C com is a nightmare of idiots sometimes.

The real factor of why this event happened was due to a very inexperienced member of their party. He had no clue of what to do after he made several terrible mistakes.

The mistakes he made were due only to his lack of climbing experience.

How do I know? I was the one of the guys who had to go get get his friends in the notch.

OK, I'll bite: what mistakes (not counting getting fucked up on the way to the climb) did they make? Did they not leave a fixed line for jugging out and couldn't lead the climb that goes to the rim?

It's strange how stupid climbers get themselves into bad situations. I wonder if being under the influence has anything to do with it? Sort of similar to getting into a car when you already have one too many.

Uh the first one day ascent of the nose was drug induced.

The abcd scale was hatched during an acid trip in the valley.

I and many others have drank and smoked their way up El Cap. Kinda like a vertical raft trip.

Several small mistakes and you end up benighted and a bit uncomfortable. It also makes the buffet taste pretty good when you finally finish.

Several terrible mistakes and someone dies.

It's my strong contention that a fuckstick is a fuckstick, regardless of race, religion, sex, or loose affiliation with Yosar.

As far as Wabbit hating, how else are you going to keep the smoke from the campfire away from you?

Hey, you made a good point about CUI. Seems like there are many climbers that appear CUI is ok...they're stupid to do so. Maybe the can climb a full grade harder, but they may also die off sooner.
