Non-joke shoulder injury is proving a bit laffable. I went to pinn peak, did that 5.7 we did on the shoulder of the main spire, Birthday Party... [oh, yes, and the sprayfest begins!]... then we tagged the summit via the 5.3 chiminayah ... [will the spray stop?!!! who knows?!!!] Honestly, it felt more like 5.4. Then, I onsighted some 10b slab climb. Might as well have been in JTree. Shoulder feels fine. Granted, I wasn't dueing overhanging spurt. Butt I woodn't do that in teh Tree anyweigh.
Just drop a line with specifics when you're ready. I could take a mid-weke weke-end, probably nothing moor than that rite now. Can't make Injun Tree yet. Probably in December for me, the weigh it is looking.

Actually, one of my grad school colleagues got a speeding ticket in Arizona several years ago, didn't pay it, he went and lived in Mexico for a few years, came back to TX, and they wouldn't let him get a TX driver's license until he paid his ticket, which had gone up to a couple thousand by that time.

Ok, no weekend report for climbing, but really funny story that happened yesterday.
The clamheads went to this petstore that sells all reptiles yesterday. I've been thinking of getting a ball python, wanted to show klawsti how rad they were. We went in, the teenage girl working the desk let us hold this one who promptly wrapped around klawsti, and we just started wandering the store, looking at other snakes and stuff.
We went by this one cage that housed a big fucking Burmese Python. Probably 12-15 feet long, eight inches wide at the widest, way over 200 pounds. It didn't seem like that big of a cage, and its front was just two sliding glass panels, no lock or anything. There was actually a space at the end of one panel that was big enough for the snake to stick his tongue out.
We sat there, me, clausti, and the ball python, watching the Burmese flick his tongue out and smell us. Then he started pressing against the glass, and all the sudden the fucking panel pops out of its tracks and the python makes a break for it toward us. Clausti jumped back, and I started pushing the glass panel against the snake, who has like three feet of his body out of the cage.
The tiny teenage girl looks a bit unsure, like "shit, this hasn't happened before," and goes over to try to push it back in, and the fucking thing strikes at her, and gets another couple feet of its body out of the cage. Big fucking teeth, whoa. She goes running into the back, screaming "dad! dad! The Burmese got out!"
This gruff looking older guy comes out after yelling at her "well, push it back in!" Then just walks past us, totally ignoring us, pushes the snake back in, resets the glass panel, and then goes back, yelling at his kid, "See? Was that so hard? You gotta call me every time a snake gets out of its cage?"
I promptly went home and started watching videos like this:

We still want to get a little Ball Python, though.

Hey Paul, I just heard a report from a friend of ours that just got back from the Red that the road down to the PMRP was in horrible condition and might not be passable by anyone without a high clearance vehicle. Is it really that bad?
