When it comes to moderating of speech by anyone other than the person making it, I definately think that less is more. Atg200, you were a very cool mod in this respect...This forum has worse flame wars than most, and I never saw you overextend your mod duties to reign them in or to cater to your own point of view as sometimes happens in the other forums. Thanks for the time that you put into making the site a fun place.

Welcome aboard, Ed. I wouldn't want your job for the fixed pins on the Leaning Tower. Thanks for taking on a thankless task.

In reply to: Thanks for taking on a thankless task. yeah, no shit pete. thanks for making the job so unappealing i wanted nothing more to do with it. have fun ed, i recommend tequila. also make sure to get out climbing once in awhile. perhaps we should meet in zion and do an aid forum moderator ascent os a wall. thanks to all the people who don't look at this forum as a personal advertising venue, and don't get abusive the first time they are disagreed with. it is more than possible to present good information without being a sociopathic sexist bastard. there are many who contribute brilliantly. in particular, thanks to copperhead, brutusofwyde, elcapbuzz, karlbaba, alpinestylist, and flamer. there are many others who have added helpful and fantastic things, but in you guys have been especially helpful and inspirational to me. now i'm off to go climb some walls and scary desert towers.

Hey! Much thanks, guys. I'd like to reiterate my appreciation for Andy's efforts and time on this forum. It is a thankless job he's been doing for quite some time, and he's been more than fair and equitable. I'm just along for the ride. It's kind of nice to have the opportunity to give a little back to this rag-tag, mis-matched group of knuckle-draggers. I have learned a lot from you guys and am constantly entertained, so hopefully I can just keep my head down and facilitate the exchange of information. It's been a doozey of a start, though, huh? Ed

So good to see a post like this once in awhile! Thank's to both of you! Hey Ed- interested in doing a 2nd ascent in Sedona?? A route my buddy and I did still needs a 2! (well truthfully he soloed the first 3 pitchs and I came back with him 2 years later to lead the 4th and final pitch) I'm sure you'd love the route! PM me if you're interested. josh

Andy, Thanks for all of your hard work. You have done a great job of retaining an unbiased position in a forum filled with a bunch of weird ones for sure – aid climbers. Keep posting; your recent posts have had me rolling… Ed, Good to meet you in the Valley. Too bad we didn’t get a chance to sit down and have a beer; maybe next time. Well, looks like you’re in for it! Have fun.

Nothing like jumping into the deep end, eh, Ed? Disappearing posts, betrayal [or the best-ever troll], deception, flamage - just another day in paradise. Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

OK Pete, I've got a new one for ya. Since you're at 1931 posts (~ the Great Depression), how 'bout you try to provide us with a bit of history for the year of each of your posts... 'till you get to 2003 (as I'm sure we won't get to 2004 by that time...). That could be interesting, huh? (...don't know where that came from but thought I'd throw it out there...)

Put...down...the...hooch! What are you doing back in front of the keyboard, anyway? How 'bout a few damn trip reports? And I can't wait to get caught in the PTPP/Copperhead crossfire. Come to think of it -- pass the hooch, please.

Depends on where you're at. On the wall, Julius Kessler, my friend from Kentucky. At the keyboard, something cold... How about Kessler and ginger ale on ice? Nuh-uh. No crossfire between me and Bryan. And I'm goin' cavin' this weekend. Woo-hoo!

In reply to: Nah, Andy is right. Tequila. V8 strawberry kiwi juice with tequila... mmmm good... urrp.... whoa, that drink sounds pretty damn good. as for the crossfire, can i put in a vote for tarpitting a certain, nameless user who frequents this forum and does his damnedest to dominate it with ridiculous demands, alongside his precocious and unnecessarily flowery (yet unwaveringly annoying) speech where hits and highlights are incessantly over-emphasized with bolds and other annoying font features, not to mention his constant preaching about systems that seem to be overly complicated for the average beginning aid climber, despite his complete and utter insistence that his way is mostly the better way??? ... just another innocent question from an aid gumbie falling in love with daisies and etriers .. *blink blink*

WOW!! climber chic do you have a bf??? I just read you profile. It sounds like you need to quit your job buy a van and go on a extended climbing/roadtrip. One summer in Yosemite and you will be climbing walls in your sleep. Chris.

(free beer if you pick option b .. no pressure .. heheeh.) as for next summer, who knows. my son will be with dear ol dad most of the summer, and if i dont have a 'real' job, then i'll definitely be hitting the road in search of the most enduring climbs that i can send.

Is Ed the same person who is hooking up with Chad, to climb Prodigal Son??? I read Ed's profile. He has a great outlook on climbing. Yeah Climber Chyc, I just went back to work. Finished my first two weeks after having 6 months off, and I am ready to go back to the Valley in October. Maybe one of these days, I will crawl out of the dirt or snow depending on the season, and become a respectable citizen. Would love to climb some towers with you and a few or many walls with you. CHEERS, chris

I'm just looking forward to writing another chapter in the "Adventures with Epic Ed" series of trip reports. Hey, and while we're welcoming new mods -- WELCOME MACULATED!! This oughta be fun. Can't wait to have her chiming in more often to crack a few skulls. ;-) Ed
