Do people post topics like this just to get a rise out of cats like Jay, or are they actually as as stupid as they sound? laughing so hard i almost peed my pants.

Both, but you can usually tell the difference. In this case, the guy is actually this stupid.

Is there a reason all the posts are coming up with ridiculously lengthy definitions?

Yes!!!

and David should know, he climbs too!

*hijack attempt*

I was told a story about David Lee-Roth climbing at Arapiles back in the 80's... he turned up with full entourage and winnebago style motorhomes and had generators going, the whole lot.

When this guy asked him for an autograph he was told to fuck off.

Not that I blame Lee-Roth for that, it would be bloody annoying to be asked for an autograph in the one spot where you'd think you could get some peace and quiet (although the generators stopped anyone else getting peace and quiet I guess).

I weigh about 30 lbs more than the average climber. Every time I have given another lead climber a dynamic belay by jumping, they have thanked me with a "nice catch". There is not a general law for climbing/belaying styles. Find what works best for you and your compadres.
