BVB, I think that site is off-limits right now due to fire dangers. If Ivan and Erica go, then there is NO WAY I'm gonna miss it. Even if it is a week before I head to Thailand.

In reply to: i'll go if curt and bobby d go. i might even arrange to have my car stolen again, so they can bust the perp all starsky and hutch style. I'm in...as long as BVB and Curt show up. Us old boys need to stick together. I think we ought set-a-side a small area for the shorter folks in the group. That makes more room for the normal size folks like BVB, Curt and me.

Art, you are on a freakin' TEAR! If Alex and I gift you with a bottle of Hornitos can you only improve? BobD, are you suggesting a kiddy table? Dammit, I'm almost this many (holds up 25 fingers) and I still have to eat at the kiddy table at family Thanksgivings. I've been saying this for 4 years but I really will climb with Erica. Oh yes. I mean it this time for reals.

In reply to: Art, you are on a freakin' TEAR! If Alex and I gift you with a bottle of Hornitos can you only improve? Only if Curt, bvb and bob help me drink it (if we can tear them away from the nipple on curt's bottle of single malt scotch)

In reply to: Not too long ago, a young climber lost his life at the forks cause his gear ripped. It may not be that far off the deck, but its definitely far enough Never climbed there but it does sound like fun. For the record, the climber who lost his life at the Forks recently was on one of the Yogi Cracks that is notorious for difficult protection placements, as well as being slickern' snot on a glass doorknob. Most (but not all) Forks routes have great pro and easly placements. Also, I could probably give Ed a run for his money in the mass department and I have yet to have a piece slide on me at the Forks in fifteen years of climbing there. Not saying it doesn't happen (obviously someone experienced it), just that I wouldn't say it's typical. my 0.02

In reply to: *chuckle* I've caught Kole and Alex before in varying stages of Krispy Kreme/Carl's Jr consumption. Not like this is something I really want to do anymore ;) Jay, I have no doubt that whatever you were scheming was funny... Alright Hillary, you caught me looking. I still have your Team Kreme hat. I was hoping that one tearful day you would ask for it back, spitting thru a mouth stuffed with an icing filled Krispy Kreme. Are you saying this day will never come? Hang on, I need a moment... For the record I will come to the gathering. Kole

Hold onto the Team Kreme hat- the more I start thinking about trad, the more I may want donuts and an MGD (in the can, natch). I should paw through my mom's house and see if I can't find my 7th grade yearbook photo for my incriminating semi-mullet, and you'll see what can happen if you take your child into a supercuts knockoff in Lodi, CA!

In reply to: BVB, I think that site is off-limits right now due to fire dangers. nah, you can camp there right now. no camping or fire restrictions in our neck of the coconino at the moment. and somebody posted earlier that they got cited for camping there? i dunno what that was about, but i know all the forest circus folks over there and it IS a legal dispersed camping spot. in any case, by the time the gathering rolls around, any fire danger will be long gone.

Art's smoldering hotness might be a hazard, as would the sun bouncing off Curt's dome 8-)

We'll meet up one of these days...I'm way too boring for one of these parties and it sounds like it's going to happen during the middle of the Granite Mountain season, which is inviolate. But thanks for asking. We could have formed the Heavyweight Ascent Team™ for anyone sporting a duece. G.
