Advance christmas presents from dad and partner-A spanking new mountain bike from my dad and some nice parts for it courtsey of my partner. Now all I want is a pair of anasazi velcros, a helmet for when I ride and some concentration to score me a second upper for my finals in May. That should do. Oh and maybe for slightly drier weather so we can go climbing outside, getting rained on often loses its appeal very fast.
In reply to: that would be cool philly, but the hubby might have already got it for me. he said he's done shopping and my list was pretty short!!!! That's fast. Real fast. Says the girl who hasn't the foggiest idea what to get people.

All I really want for Christmas, or anytime, is a perfect climbing partner. One that helps give me enough confidence to lead at my ability level. One who pushes me without pushing me. One who has the same schedule I do, who is always available to go climbing when I can. An Ice Climber and backcountry skier would be nice. Oh, and while I'm at it, male, good looking and single would be nice too! But practically, a split board (my knees can't handle junk snow on the skis anymore), and a 30x snow crystal magnifyer.

In reply to: hope you've been a good boy this year shorty and maybe they'll be something good in your stocking!!!!! Of course I've been a good boy. This year includes: - Trying to be more diplomatic with "challenging" customers, suppliers, and co-workers. - Working out with a trainer, getting in better shape, eating better, drinking less. - Putting up a couple dozen new routes in the Platte. - Actually allowing snowboarders to ride on the same chairlift as me. - Training hard for ski racing. Shoot, I haven't been good, I've been flat out boring. Maybe if I hang a fishnet stocking on the mantle, they'll be something good in it! Now where's that VS catalog when you need it?

What do I want for Christmas? Hmm. Last year my boyfriend got me a hangboard, and my best guy friend bought me a quickdraw. This year I've been too busy to even think about Christmas stuff (except for other people). I guess my only wish would be to get to stay in Calgary next year (although I guess the climbing in Newfoundland is not bad...)

I asked for a new helmet. My Ecrin Roc was too big, the damn thing never stayed on- always ended up like a freakin' yamecha. Anyway, getting one of the smaller Elios helmet. The BF has something climbing-related up his sleeve..Can't wait to see what it is! Though, just having him in my life is all the Christmas present I need. But if I was a really good girl.. a winter down bag and some skis would be lovely!

My mother used to give me make-up and "fluffy" or "froo-froo" clothing, very thoughtful but absolutely useless to me. She has finally cottoned on: last year it was a pass to the local climbing gym, this year it's cash to help with the LAST SEMESTER (whew) of tuition. Everyone else seems to know me pretty well; most anticipated present this year: ice climbing road trip!!! Honestly, as long as it's not a "girly gift" (can't stand 'em) I'm thrilled to get a gift.. maybe the best one ever was from a friend that was housesitting for me around holiday time... she cleaned and scrubbed every single inch of my apartment and then gift-wrapped my door! I tear up just thinking about it...

I just want to be able to walk again. I finally recover from my injury (torn MCL nine months ago) and then I go tobogganing on Saturday. Big mistake. Okay, the tobogganing wasn't bad - but getting clipped in the leg at the base of the hill by a 150lb woman, her 50lb kid and their 10lb toboggan wasn't alot of fun....especially right before a climbing trip.

granite_grrl--I saw that the other day and thought about getting it, too. I definitely feel a little bit like Wonder Woman when I'm climbing well! It doesn't hurt that they're super cute, either.

I asked for a rewnewal for my SuperDuper AAA Gold Plus, Lift Ticket 6 for my rack, new snowboard bindings, new headlights for my Jeep and a microwave. I have inspected all of the packages under the tree and I think I will make out pretty well. Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!

I got a downie and a shell, a guide book and some other goodies. :D But I'm not allowed to wear the downie in our house because my mum says it's a "jacket" lol.
