If anyone out there is in need of transportation to and from Ouray, I MAY be your solution. My plans recently changed so anykineclimb and I are driving out separately. I am leaving from the Denver/Boulder area on Wednesday and I am returning Sunday afternoon (which means I am leaving Ouray in the a.m.) Some of you will want to climb in the beginning of the week and some of you will want to stay until it is all said and done--->I will not be a good solution for you in this case. PM me if the latter is not true. Cheers!

Ok, so I am the "person", "girl"... who needs a ride from Denver to Ouray(in response to Lisa's need for a "ride for someone", she is my roomie and super cool for trying to find me a ride!) But I now know where the forum is so...(Thanks LISA P..) so it would be awesome if we could coordiate a plan of action... if the ofer is still open! Yeah!

Also... I am looking to go somewhere or anywhere in Arizona after the festival. I was wondering if anyone is driving back to AZ after the fest and has some room? I would help pay for gas!

Where in Arizona, specifically?

I am driving back on Monday, the 15th. Ouray-Durango-Flagstaff-Phoenix.

Let me know where you want to go, and I might be able to give you a ride.

So I am wondering if you have plans on where you are staying? I guess that I should find somewhere to stay...haha. Oh, I crack myself up.
Otherwise, I might consider asking crr.... to see if she can give me a ride/place to stay. I will sleep on the floor!

Hey Reno- I was looking to go to Phoenix, well Tempe. But Phoenix would be great, I will make reservations at a hotel. Where would be the easiest for you to drop me. My plan is to find a hotel near Phoenix and have my sister, who lives in tempe, to come and pick me up. I will be willing to leave Ouray whenever!

I live in the northern part of Phoenix, in the town of Cave Creek.

Tempe is about 20 miles... I can drop you there, if you wish.

Or you can get a hotel anywhere in the Scottsdale area, as that's pretty close, too.

Going once, going twice...who needs a hotel room? I've got an extra room rented at the Best Western. It's right at the foot of the park and they've got indoor and outdoor hotsprings. Did I mention there's a killer continental breakfast?

I was holding the room for some friends I thought were coming into town. It's rented from Sunday night through Saturday night (7th-14th). The rate ranges from $80-$130/night. It has 2 queen size beds.

Let me know if you are interested in taking it out of my name and putting it in yours. Rumor is hotels are sold out. All I'm looking to get out of it is a place to park since I'm staying a mile outside of town. Just gotta tell the front desk peeps my license plate number along with yours.

Let me know before I cancel this Saturday.

PS, I have no idea whether I can cancel part of the reservation or not...but we can call and find out.

from an email that i rec'd...

In reply to:
Hari Berger died on Dec 20th when the ice cave he was climbing in, in
Salzburg, Austria, collapsed on him. Only a few hours later, Kirsten
Buchmann gave birth to their daughter, Zoe.

Hari was an exceptional climber who won many ice world cups and did
amazing first ascents all over the world. But most of all, he was an
unforgettable person who brought joy and happiness to all the people
he encountered. His is an immense loss for our community and he will
be greatly missed by all.

In such sad times, our thoughts go out to the ones left behind,
primarly to his long time girlfriend Kirsten Buchmann and his
daughter Zoe.

Kirsten and Hari have both competed many times over the years in the
Ouray Ice Festival, and it is our desire to give back to them by
helping Kirsten and Zoe through those rough times. The Ouray Ice
Festival board of directors has therefore decided to donate all funds
raised from the Saturday night Petzl party to Kirsten and Zoe.

We would greatly appreciate it if the competitors and other attendees
of the 2007 Ouray Ice Festival spread the word regarding this
fundraising party: please let the participants in your clinics know,
inform people at your booths, and spread the word to those in and
outside the Ice Park. Announcements will also be made during Ice
Festival events. Although the Petzl party is free, we will solicit
donations for Kirsten and Zoe at the door. It would also be greaty
appreciated if the athletes would all attend the party and make
themselves available to the public during this event.

It is in such times that the community needs to come together to help
those members in need.

Thank you all for your great support in promoting this event. For
those of you who would like to help Kirsten and Zoe at present, you
can deposit funds on the following bank account:
Hypo Salzburg
BLZ: 55000
KTNR. 114 0000 1016
Empfänger: Berger Harald Spendenkonto

IBAN: AT685500011400001016

Safe ice climbing to you all and best wishes for the New Year to come,

Caroline George (-Ware)

Wellllllll smaarrrrrrrrtttttAASSSSSSSSS( in a thick Scottish accent), i have been planning a new mead for that very purpose so i guess youll just have to wonder all the very next year how it will turn out.
For those of you attending this year, we have a fine assortment of artisan crafted stouts and a EESB for the lively Colorado contingent condo. Along with the bawdy humor and the camaraderie, it will be an epic event.
That is all, please return to the 2006 post for additional details.....[/quote]

Speaking of which, I will be comming out to the festival from michign with LisaP and we hae saved room in the car for one case of beer to share with some people. We are bringing Bells beer, mostly Oberon (which by the way kicks the crap out of fat tire ale) if any of you have heard of Bells Brewery and would like to make a special request for us to bring along something else, let me know. You can be as specific as a name of one of the Bells beers or as vague as a particular style you are looking for.
