on my last wall I brough too many damn energy bars and not enough meat and cheese! those packages that have a stick of salami and a stick of cheese in one were the bomb! other hits: -rice crispy treats -string cheese -tortias, salsa packets, and packages of Tuna and Chicken -Tasty Bites Bombay Potatoes for spice -those Oatmeal bar/square things for the morning -cheddar cheese in the resealable package -Old English tastes sooo much better on a wall also we ran out of smokes 3 days from the top...that was a major fuck up. did I say lots of cheese?

I'll second the Salami as a non-messy, easy-to-eat source of food while on the wall. Also good, were carrots (the little ones in the bag), as they contain some water, won't get crushed, and are a vegetable, right? forgot who mentioned it, but a jar of nutella a day might be a little much. I'm a nutella fiend myself, and I think for my next wall, I might actually skip out on the 'tella in favor of a couple bars of dark chocolate (Lindt probably). Great thread, btw

ok, i can't believe noone actually said this. where are the true traddies? jeez. the only 2 foods you need to climb big walls are ham sandwiches, and malt liquor (exchange beer for liquor if absolutely necessary). this way you get to have fun while climbing, have a tasty meal, have more fun before you go to sleep, and wake up before climbing with the mother of all hangovers. plus this can help you (if you are an aid climber) maintain the necessary body shape for aid climbers (ie roughly spherical, with four projections at each corner).

We were freezing on the Diamond under a hail storm and needed some hot liquids. We made some coffee but didn't want any more caffeine so we melted some jolly ranchers in the boiling water. It was surprisingly good.
