Tandoori chicken. Okay, I didn't pass it, per se, but if you look in the bowl after you're done (and everyone does), you'll swear you're passing blood. Kinda scary the first time. Brought back memories of my first week in jail. (Kidding)

Similar Experience...wife bought one of those big Industrial jugs of Red Licorice aroudn Xmas....I love red licorice...anywho...after I eat fist-full after fist-full....an hour our so later...have a major stomach *urge* (or was that purge), anywho....once again...

the bowl was "bloody red"...took me a few days to put 2 and 2 together...and hence, I no longer eat red licorice by the half-pound....I never realized that licorice was a laxitive also....so many first  8^)

as for the silica packets....

My roommate and I were bored in college. So, we called poison control and told them we ate a packet. They said it wasn't poisonous and that it only says DO NOT EAT so that old half blind people don't think they are sugar packets. So, the two of us ate several packets in front of audiences over the next couple of months. When you chew it, the balls break down into sand as you would expect. Then you just swallow it. There is no flavor.

Also, when I was very young we went to Disney World and got smurf pops. My sisters and I ate enough of these smurf pops to turn our shit green.

Modelling clay.

My mom bought me tons of modelling clay, but I only built small features. After all, clay is good for the bowels.

I used to make coasters out of the CD's I'd get in the mail... put a little felt on them and they make decent coasters. Well they absorb a bit of the spill now and then, and my dog loves beer (english bulldog)...

So I get home from work one day and find that half of my homade coasters were in pieces on the floor. He'd gotten bored and chewed them up while I was gone. No biggie I figure, I noted some of the felt pieces were missing, they had the beer smell in them, he ate them, no problem right?

Well the next weekend I'm having a cookout party, so I'm picking up dogpiles in the back yard when I notice a strange glint in the grass... Turns out it was a piece of a CD. Apparently the poor guy ate the some of the coasters too and passed little chunks of CD (some of them quite pointy).

Sheep, I'm glad you posted this. I've idly tossed those packets into my mouth, while reaching deep into the beef jerky pouch. I thought I would ahve been a goner if I'd swallowed them.

Speaking of taking a look.....Why do corn kernels seem to PASS through the digestive sytem seemingly intact? .....

Humans lack the proper digestive enzymes to break down the cellulose in the hull.

Speaking of silica packets...

When glacier trekking somewhere or another, we got stuck eating those dehydrated meals (crap, the lot of them, really). Well, we were enjoying our lovely re-hydrated crap one night when one of my friends turns to me and asks me to taste his meal because it tastes a bit funny... It turned out that he had emptied the silica packet into the meal before adding water because he thought it was flavoring.

This couldn't cause the taste difference. Having eaten numerous packets of my own will, I know they have no taste. They could make it gritty, but not change the taste.

Read my page 2 post in this thread. I don't know what else to say about the silica packets.
