I STILL think hes a liar and I STILL dont want to climb with him. simple as that.
Edited to say: I would caution anyone I cared about from climbing with him as well. Which was, incidentally the purpose behind the thread (see title.)

There's nothing wrong with cautioning people you personally know about a specific individual in order to help save them the trouble of finding out for themselves. But this approach, among other things, did not convey your message as intended.

WHAT THE FUCK DOES IT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING. Being fat doesn't make you a good person and being hot doesn't make you a good person. In fact any possible combination of any height, weight, pant size, underwear color and what-the-fuck ever has absolutely nothing to do with you being a good or bad person.
Sure it was bad form to post an IM on a forum. I've done it many times in a different context so I at least found it amusing. But it all should stop there, not get blown out of proportion like this ... I'm not ever sure what we're arguing here ....

Yeah, not all since I started climbing. I was ~270 then, but I topped out at 305 at my worst. I'm currently at ~225-230 on my way to a goal of ~200. Still a ways to go but thanks. 8^)
And I'd rope up with you too, as long as you were anchored properly. :wink: :lol:

Lets get one things straight here. Technically I didnt use wideguy's name in the fat comment. Yet everyone knew I was calling him fat. And yet you are willing to accept the technicality of the omisison of direct adress from his remark that I'm crazy?
If it makes you feel better, yes, I apologized to him for calling him fat, because I shouldn't have, in a PM cause its not any of your damn business. Does it make you feel better that I've now posted that fact to open forum? Doesnt me posting an apology like that, to a topic that only affects ONE person, seem more like sucking up to public image than "doing the right thing?" That is certainly how I see it. If I say something egregious that requires an apology, unless its something that affects more than one person, I will issue that in private. Because if you're really sorry, you will make sure the person knows it, you're not going to go spraying "oh look at what a good, reformed person I am, I apologized in public" all over the offending thread.
As far as any potential harm I may have done to zlipperisback, that is another topic entirely from whatever offense I may have given wideguy or those who care about him. No, I should not have posted the AIM conversation in the first place. But what rectifies that? Saying "gosh i'm really sorry i did that"? Or taking the materiel down? Again, to my way of thinking, taking down what should never have been up seems to do a whole lot more towards correcting what wrong was done in that situation than just issuing an apology.
Zlipperisback, here is you're apology. I am genuinly sorry I posted that conversation.
Nobody who started reading this thread more than about 6.5 hours after it was started read that conversation. They coudlnt have because I took it off. If you want to judge me for posting that, then judge me for posting it. Then take into account that it is gone now, with the exception of the few snips that were quoted. Obviously you cant make your own judgements anymore becuase the materiel no longer exsists. That is as it may be.
So to wideguy, an apology. To zlipperisback, an apology. To this forum, no apology because as usual, as I am of course wont to do myself, you have judged without knowing complete stories.
