I think I was there that day (on second coming) and saw you guys. I was with a guide from Fox and he lowered me off that tree so I could stay out of your way. But there's plenty of room to rap down from there without getting on top of people. Maybe whoever did it was the same guys who were not happy about your dog (who was on a leash) at the bottom. I walked right by the dog with no problems. But it didn't seem to like those guys. On a side note someone needs to put some anchors at the top of those routes. Those giant cables and all those people rapping off there are killing that tree. More importantly some other folks need to leave those anchors up there.

Hey man! Thanks for chiming in. You didn't seem to have any trouble at all getting by us. On the other note... Ironic that they would be annoyed by my friend's relatively well behaved, leashed dog while their two dogs ran free, barking non-stop, getting tangled in ropes, and harassing the rest of the dogs (also leashed). I has assumed that they were in such a hurry to get down and were subsequently so rude because they wanted to get down to take control of their dogs. They seemed to forget about their dogs though, as they rounded the corner to climb further away and out of sight, they left their dogs to continue terrorizing everyone else there. Let's not start another dog thread though... Oh well, no one is perfect.

Every guidebook for the South Face of Looking Glass specifically says to stay away from the Gemini Cracks on crowded days, because they ascend the rappel line for many routes on that face. The only thing those guys did wrong, in my book, is fail to call "Rope" (and wait for "clear".. why does nobody wait??) before the throw. They were probably very annoyed that you had two lines going through a high-traffic area. I assume this is where the rest of their hostility poor manners originated. I personally would not have waited for the rappel to come free. I also wouldn't have gotten my rope stuck there (again) because I've done so already  I would have rappelled to the belay ledge and then advised you that the Gemini Cracks should really be saved for low-traffic days.
