How many here use the ticklist provided by RC.com?

Is it so others can see what you've done?

Is the ticklist there for chest puffing?

Is it there so that we can use it against other RC.com-mers?

As I understand it, the ticklist is what you want to do, not what you have done.

Regardless, the only reason I can see for posting something you want to do is if you were looking for like minded folks to climb with.

I have no idea why you would post what you have climbed. Seems kinda lame.

It's lame to post another's list just to call them lame.

I don't know why I've only started to do this but I've started to keep notes of routes in my guides as well as in a journal. Is it overkill? Any of you guys do the notes in guide thing in addition to the journal?

If you have to look at a graph to figuer out how hard you want to climb today you have issues.

I would suppose it is significantly easier to decide hard to climb on any given day if you never climb hard at all.

So, do you have any idea why you posted ascents of "Punter 11d" and a story about how you bailed off Levitation 29?

Guess you're "kinda lame"?

I hate it when people tick a rt but don't tell you anything about the Rt.
This has been a pet peeve of mine, too. I like to check the ascents for a route I'm planning on leading to see if it's particularly sandbagged or what the pro is like. But most people either don't put anything in the description area at all, or something useless like "nice route." :(

Would you still want people to put in a description if the route is straightforward? i.e. "this route is starightforward; not much route finding needed". I'm asking because I'm thinking of updating my routes lists and I'll put in descriptions.

Sure, that could be a useful thing to know. It's also good to hear how people liked/disliked the route -- if I saw something like "this is way overrated, don't waste your time" from enough people, it'd probably save me a trip up it.

Wow! what a stunning line! The chimy on pitch six was a blast and the under cling out to the roof on 7 was memorable. gears not as bad as it looks, have fun 8^) See that gives me something to read while I should be working but does not give the whole climb away.
