i got to work saturday and sunday!!!!!!! I tried to go climbing today (monday) but when we got to the crag we had no rope (we each thought the other was going to bring his rope) so i started to strap climb this 11b (i think) but about three bolts up i realized it would really suck getting down w/o a rope. I'll ket you imagine how i got down. (it was pretty funny to watch i bet)

Funny, the thought that went through my head as I saw the title of this thread was 'What a stupid thread!" but honestly, in retrospect, it does have some validity, I guess - if only for those of us who want to rant and don't care whether we are actually heard. As for my weekend, the I had to work on Sunday morning totally destroyed any plans I had originally had for a climbing roadtrip. I did, however, spend Saturday morning volunteering at the local gym belaying for Kid's Climb. Sunday after work my mom came to visit and I took her to the local gear shop and explained in as much detail as I thought she could handle, the intricacies of nuts, cams, portaledges and any other nifty toys that happened to catch my eye. Monday, headed up with my friend Hillary (aka climbsomething) and her boyfriend Nick to Mt. Lemmon - The Canines. I lead a 5.8 sport route and then free-soloed up the 5.5 chimney next to it to take photos of Hillary seconding. Next I did the 5.10 nearby. After plenty of fooling around with my new camera lenses, and a roll and a half of film later, it was time to go home. Oh, yeah... I went on three beautiful, long morning runs too.

I went bouldering on saturday since all my climbing partners went to this rock concert. When I was ready to leave the bouldering site, it started raining, and didn't stop for the rest of the weekend, so I just stayed home and played some drums. Rush

I went climbing friday after school, ditch x-country. (is friday a weekend day?) Saterday, I boldered and boxed in my friends bolder room, its a good time there. Sunday I went to church, then I went out to the Canyon that I climb in and slept in a hamook under the bridge over the water. Had a good time there, then I went climbing that morning and day. Climb 3 new routs. 1st a 5-7 trad rout, (first thing in spring) second a 10+ sport rout, (shadow rider) 3rd another 10+ sport rout, (? dont know name). I came home, played some ultimate frisbee in the park with some ladies, ate some food, and now wasting my time on the comp befor I go to bed for school tomorrow.

My climbing partner and I got busted bolting a new 300 metre route on Mt. Tibrogargan. Ranger kicked us off the mountain. At least he didn`t confiscate anything and he only gave us a warning. So after that I had enough time to drive a couple of hundred k`s and win my division in a bouldering comp. Mind you though I was the only one in my division but hey I still won dammit. ...Phil...

I had a full weekend of climbing in the grampians and mt arapilies. Did some awesome routes including a fantastic one at mt staplyton called golden showers and group sex (20, 5.10c). I FINALY ticked chain of fools (23, 5.11c/d), went back this time and got it first go. I also jumped on a route called Manic depresive (25, 5.12b/c) and came agonisingly close to ticking it, done with one rest it will go next time. Those were the highlights of the weekend, however i also climbed pilot error (20, 5.10b/c), some ugly crack climb at arapilies, scarab at Bundeleer which was quite easy but lots of fun, and finaly i ticked a v5 boulder problem at mt staplyton. That was my weekend, and i cant wait to get back out there.

After watching a painfully long and protracted cluster f--- on The Vampire we got irked enough to stop sleeping even and go do Super Pooper again, a pretty decent route. Sunday was a rain out. Today we bagged a bunch of sport climbs in Big Bear, pretty decent cragging there josh

WENT CLIMBING It was a slow easy climbing weekend as we took some newbies out to feel the rock. Everone had a good time. They climbed 5.6 5.7 But I had to play on something a little harder so I let them try a 5.9. They didn't like it, but I did

Trad climbing in the Adirondacks. Hit Creature Wall (Keene Valley area) on Sunday, led Arachnid traction, Cujo and Pet Semetary all 8-9's, Cleaned a couple other routes as well, Monday hit Jewels and Gems wall and TR'd D1 (5.11) and led a 5.6 recommended route, also TR'd a 5.10 option to the 5.6. Fun weekend, but almost got creamed by a spinout on the highway..

3 pitches of 5.9 on basalt at the local crag. led on 1st and third. 1st was first time on that route. Great time! Other: Hiked about 7hours in the Columbia Gorge - beautiful day. Saw an old movie at an art-house theater: "The Hippie Temptation" - pretty funny stuff. Saw Jerry and the Boys in their 1st year. wow! [ This Message was edited by: mugnyte on 2002-09-03 10:07 ]
