As my soaring postcount indicates, I'm DESPERATELY in need of a reliable climbing partner! My regular partner (my wife) is out of commission for a few more months and my second most regular partner is less than reliable (MR.E  ).

I am in the process of immigrating to Canada and I am not allowed to work. Now that my wife is able to take reasonable care of herself again, I have nothing but time on my hands.

I climb rock and ice. Have a solid rack for both and I'm house broken.

I'd prefer to find someone from the St.Catharines area or who would be willing to go to the bridge, but I can likely be lured further, especially once ice finally starts coming in.

I'd be happy to get out with you sometime Nate....if it will help my friend granite grl get her time back on the computer to boost her posts!!!

Unfortunately, I only have weekends free and even then, I spend half that time in the hockey rinks right now.

And, when the ice comes....I have been TOLD that I am going to giv'er a go...so I would be happy to be your belay slave to see how its done!!!!

Trad climbing, the seasons pretty much dead now in Ontario, I was hoping to get out at least a few times in sept, oct and Nov, but look at all the damn rain.

Oh well...

All this rain could make for an exceptional ice season. :D

The water tables are filling, the seeps are seeping, now if it would just freeze!

Hey there,

I live in Oakville and would definitely be interested in getting out. I have been climbing for about 14 years (not much ice). I keep getting strong in the gym over the winter, then lose all of my climbing partners in the summer (I like trad, they like bolts). I am pretty busy, but I am self employed so my schedule is somewhat flexible. I am going to be near the Gunks for the last week of October...

Hey Nathan,

We still gotta get out before the snow flies, there's lots of outdoor climbing to be had (on the rock).....might have to head to buffalo crag or rattlesnake point where it's a big warmer, but that's all good...

my regular partner and I would still like to do a weekend trip down to the gunks, or kentucky or somewhere else good while we still can, if anyone else is interested

cheers

There's always weather windows for Ontario climbing but you also mentioned the magic word for late season climbing -> Kentucky. Watch the forecasts and plan accordingly because I've had about four November trips to the RRG that were great. You may need a down jacket for the evenings but I've also climbed in just a t-shirt during the day. In fact I think I went shirtless one November trip but it wasnt busy so nobody went blind

Hi there.

I noticed that you wrote this in a thread in Canada Section.

[quote:baf243d15e="buddysnack"](I like trad, they like bolts)[/quote:baf243d15e]

I noticed that you mention the Gunks, my favourite place to climb.
I know trapps pretty good, so if you would be interested in taking some trips I would love to go there again.

If your partners go sport climbing in summer months, why don't you let me know and we will go do some trad.

Please check my refferences and lets go climb.

Next weekend as in the 4th & 5th?

I think Rebecca is going to be changing her appointment schedule. I'll probably be having Monday mornings open, Tues. & Thurs. afternoons open, and any other day open unless we have something else scheduled for whatever day.

I'm fairly busy on the weekends but wednesdays are good for me if you're looking for a partner.

Oh, my name is brent, sorry. I'm in hamilton and would like to try out this "Nemo" or "buffalo" or "rattlesnake" sometime.

I saw Devils punchbowl, Nate. Looks like a lot of the watherfalls around here but it might yield some cool ice if it gets cold.

Hey!

James and I climb at Milton most weekends, if anyone is heading out let me know what crag you plan/aprox times etc. and maybe I can start putting faces to names to the Ont. contingent of rc.com :)

We were at bottleglass last weekend (brr!) Hopefully this weekend will be sunny...

Cheers, Amy

Saturday isn't looking too bad. There should be some sun and not super cold.

Last Thursday we went to Buffalo Crag and it was pretty nice.

Stay the fuck out of the Punchbowl unless you want to be the person responsible for having Hamilton Conservation Authority close all climbing on it's property. There would be a few people upset at losing Tiffany Falls, Tews Falls, and Felkners.
I didn't negotiate for three years to have some postwhore wreck access on the one day he does go ice climbing :P
Besides, it rarely gets decent enough to climb anyway.

Tews takes a cold year and rarely freezes but there are other smears adjacent. Beware of hanging ice collapsing. Websters Falls area is not open to climbing.
Felkners has a high flow but will come in during prolonged cold snaps and can be fun.
Tiffany is more reliable and I've seen it come in as soon as mid December.

All the above are subject to a permit system.

There are also other icefalls on city property that freeze with varying results. No permit or access issues at this time.
