I'm up for switching the days... Let's see what's best for the most users to hook up. Let the voting start... I don't care, so I have no vote. We know Joseph's. BTW... What's cheaper ??? Steak & Beer, or 4 pack of Guiness.

Tahquitz, sounds good. I've been wanting to get out there. I probably won't be at Malibu though. I prefer to climb on Sunday but could probably make it on Saturday if thats when others wanted to go.

I will be at Tahquitz both days. FINALLY we have a Tahquitz gathering. It will be cool to meet everyone. 2 things: 1) The upper loop of Humber Park is closed as of sunday due to construction (exactly what I have no clue), so we will have to sleep about 100 yds down from it. It's not as flat, but we can find a flat spot for the non car campers to bivy in the dirt. DO NOT pay for camping in the CG when you can camp there for free up there. Much quieter too. 2) DO NOT buy a wilderness pass. We are there for HEALTH OR RELIGIOUS REASONS!!! Not to climb. If you do get a Notice of Non-Complience, simply write on it that you were there for religious reasons and NOT for recreation. It clearly states on the ticket that you must pay if you are there for recreation purposes. I know b/c I just got another one. Better yet, I will hand everyone a flyer to put on their dash indicating just that. And Adam, I would GLADLY carry your rack up there for a 4 pack of Guinness. Anyone else need a carry??? Maybe I can get a steak out of the deal too. All I take is hexes and nuts for anything under 5.10, so I don't really have much weight to bring. I am looking forward to this so let's get it on!! TRADitionally yours, Cali Dirtbag P.S. Call if you need a ride from the I.E. 909 800 5537

My vote is for Tahquitz on Sunday, seeing how I've got to work on Saturday. It'll be a chance to do two things I've meant to do this summer: Trad and Multi-pitch. ~Matt

I'd love to join you, I've got a date with the Vampire but it looks like it'll have to wait until after the Valley. To anyone who hasn't already, check out "On The Road" it's absolutely fantastic, a couple hard tips lieback pulls then lots of delicate stemming and liebacking with tons of splayed out stances to get gear in. Take double TCUs including 0 and 00's and a double set of small nuts, offsets or brassies would help. I didn't have as much stuff in the #3-#6 stopper size range as I wanted. josh

I will concede the vote to Sat @ Malibu and Sun @ Tahquitz. Guess I will have to carry your pack another time Sir Adam. Maybe I will just do a long hike on Sat instead: one of your favorite activities. See you at the gym.

Ahhh, Darn. I'll be South of the border on Saturday. I could swing Tahqhitz on Sunday, though. I'll let my maniac driving brother know about it.

Too much driving for me. I drive alot on my job. I'll hit Idyllwild Fri. night and then go to Suicide or Taquitz on Sat. and practice setting up belay and rappel anchors and climb a little if I hook up with anybody. See you all at Taquitz on Sun. Any idea where and at what time we'll meet?

9am. no problem. I'll be at Joannes having breakfast at 7:00 in case anyone would like to join me. I'll have shaving creme and a razor so Matt can shave his legs so he REALLY looks "purdy" in that sweater.

Like they told me on my first time with them "All are welcome". I'm very new at this myself so don't feel intimidated. You'll be climbing with very cool people. [ This Message was edited by: astrocrag on 2002-09-11 19:34 ]
