Sorry didn't get to this sooner... spent the weekend in JTree, getting spanked on 5.10 cracks. For starters, I think the author is one of the most un-hinged idiots I've ever read. And I've read several items of his. All of them point to one conclusion: He's an idiot. Beyond that, I find this line funny:
In reply to: The case against the libertarian Republican is so easy to make that I almost feel compelled to stipulate it and move on. Notice how he doesn't make the argument at all? Never has, actually. Never will, probably. Just likes to say "Oh, well making that argument is beneath me, so I won't do it." Bull-cough-shit-cough. Beyond that, even, there's a fairly decent premise: Find a middle of the road candidate, and lots of people will vote for him. Pity that neither party has figured that out.

As for the article, yeah, the Republican Party nowdays is sure as hell NOT the party of small government, whatever the hell that means. But neither would the democrats be if they were in power.

Sure beats being a lonely drunkard who trolls on the web and can't make an argument better than "I climb harder than you!!!1", though.

In reply to: But, you're a lonely drunkard who trolls on the web and can't even argue that you do climb harder than anyone. So, I still win. So many errors, so little time: 1. Not lonely at all. You must be confusing you with me. 2. Not a drunkard. Again, you must be confused. Happens as you get old. 3. Don't care who I climb harder than, if anyone. Maybe you're insecure enough to care about climbing harder than others... I'm not. 4. You seem to think that you "win" whenever you argue on the web. See: Special Olympics. Have another drink, Curt, and maybe post up that webpage about how you climbed with John Gill.... it'll give us all a good laugh. Edit: Nice try, hoping to edit fast enough to not get caught. Too slow, old man.

Not lonely at all. You must be confusing you with me. I could never confuse you with me. I'm at least somewhat intelligent and that alone sets us completely apart.
In reply to: 2. Not a drunkard. Just keep saying that to yourself over and over again. Although no one else believes it--perhaps you actually will.
In reply to: 3. Don't care who I climb harder than, if anyone... That's a very fortunate thing.
In reply to: 4. You seem to think that you "win" whenever you argue on the web. See: Special Olympics. Winning is still better than losing, although I can hardly expect you to know what it feels like.
In reply to: Have another drink, Curt, and maybe post up that webpage about how you climbed with John Gill.... it'll give us all a good laugh. In general, people tend to climb with people of their own ability and interests--which also probably explains why you choose to hang out with the NAMBLA climbing team. Curt

Indeed. You're "somewhat" intelligent. You could substitute "sorta" or "just a little bit" and come out the same...
In reply to: In reply to: 2. Not a drunkard. Just keep saying that to yourself over and over again. Although no one else believes it--perhaps you actually will. One of us has a picture of an alcoholic beverage in his hand, purports himself to be an expert in the subtle nuances of scotch, and scoffs at those who have tastes different than he. The other of us doesn't. Who's the drunk, Curt?
In reply to: In reply to: 3. Don't care who I climb harder than, if anyone... That's a very fortunate thing. Indeed. You should try it.

In general, people tend to climb with people of their own ability and interests--which also probably explains why you choose to hang out with the NAMBLA climbing team. Heh.... making fun of gay people now, Curt? Ever the culturally sensitive person you are. But, let's assume you're serious: So, you have any proof to support this ridiculous statement, or are you just making up stuff hoping to appear "cool" in front of your "friends"? Hey, you have that link to John Gill's website handy, so we can all drool over how hard you climb when you're 3 feet off the ground? I can't seem to locate it anywhere... I asked once, already. Drink more, Internet Warrior.... you'll feel better tomorrow.

You know, reno, me talking to you is fairly analogous to you talking to your dog. There's really no chance for an intelligent two-way dialog, but it's still entertaining to make you cock your head off to one side in complete puzzlement. Curt

At least my dog knows who his superior is, and understands basic English, which is more than anyone can say for you. Oh, and he's also much smarter than you are, "Mensa Boy." Still waiting for that website link, Curt. Waiting.... waiting....waiting.... Drink up, Keyboard Warrior. Pretty soon, you'll be bullet proof.

I see..... the problem with Curt's disjointed ramblings is that it's much like spray paint graffiti on a highway overpass: Nobody can really make much sense of it, and it's more of an annoyance than actual harm.
