Hi Gang,
This is not a bug - it's a feature. The new site does NOT allow embedding images in treads - for performance issues. I feel this is a real loss to the look and feel of the site. Images for trip reports; explanation of technical issues; "the girls of RC.com" are all gone.
If you feel the same way, post up here. Maybe we can convince the new powers to restore this functionality.

no more worst pictures thread?
a shame, i think.
if the performance issues were based on photos being posted, (i assume by "imbedded pics" you mean photos posted in threads, if i'm wrong, forgive/ignore me) why wasn't it brought up before the switch.

I agree with you. Some cool new improvements. But no real speed increase and allot of missing features like no pics. In my opinion not an improvement. Site is more sucky when it was supposed to suck less. although there is a very big increase in advertisement space. I am sure google ads will be happy with the changes.

I am very disappointed with the new site. Loosing images is just one of the let downs. I hope it will improve on this new and better platform...

No photos in threads greatly reduces the fun. That may be a trade off I'm not willing to make.

Seems you can attach a photo and then display it but this would suck if you merely wish to display someone else's photo that is already onnthe internet somewhere.
Well hell the inline thing worked when I previewed it

I agree bring back the embedded photos. That is a serious loss to the forums.

It might not be that bad. There were a lot of people that would post really inappropriate and down right disgusting pictures on the old site. This might be a fresh change of pace.

I also miss that funcionality, but consider that the vast majority of embedded photos on RC.com are actually thefts of other sites' bandwidth.
And to anybody who feels that the first day is enough to warrant you leaving and not coming back... b-bye. The performance is far superior, there are a lot of new things to explore and we were all warned that this is very much a process, not a one-time switch and BAM done -- on to the next project. So, leave if you must. Best of luck.
