I have to respect all of your hard work fixing links. Unfortunately that's not going to fix all of the external websites links out there, like wikipedia, google and the like. This needs to be done on the code side. Mitt

In reply to: Thanks for the feedback, ddt! Is there any chance of maybe having "bug" and "features" lists (a bit like what is common in the open source community), so we could have an idea of what is being worked on? We've been so heads-down that we have not really had the time to clean up and prioritize the laundry list of things that have been thrown into the bucket of "possible future enhancements". We'll get to this in the near future.

Here's an easy fix... Switch HTML and BB Tags "on" in user profiles please.

In reply to: Is there any chance of maybe having "bug" and "features" lists (a bit like what is common in the open source community), so we could have an idea of what is being worked on? Seconded. That last sentence is key: if you can direct users to a single place where they can see that their favorite feature will return some day, it'll save you a lot of work replying to a lot of forum posts. If they can reply to something that is tagged as won't-get-fixed directly (i.e. a link that takes them to a dedicated thread) then you might also reduce the fifty-threads-about-the-same-thing problems we're having now by an order of magnitude. -aB

ddt wrote: Inline Images in Forum posts We hear you. The decision to not allow inline images was made primarily for two reasons: (1) Style and brand (2) Performance. We prefer things clean and simple. ...... It's on the list for consideration. In the mean time, remember that you can still attach images. Yes, it'll be a click away and your post won't look like a magazine page, but you could still show us what you're talking about DDT I believe the powers that be have GREATLY understimated the value and power of "pictures" just think back to what the most popular threads were. most of them were not popular because of "style" or "performance" it was PICTURES!!! forums no longer have pictures (clickable doesn't count) profiles no longer show your profile pic (at least mine suddenly doesn't. i don't believe there are any features missing that will result in a more perceptible decrease in user enjoyment than the lack of pictures. I would compare what happened to some one designing a new beach and saying because we observed most people were not actually in the water we will delete the water to save bandwidth and just have sand for the people to lay out on. Much to there surprise no one would want to lay out on their sand with no water nearby. I love RC.com and want to see it retain its users. I believe that unless pictures are given high priority that many users will be bored and leave. i believe that the abundance of pictures was what made the sight enjoyable to be on.

I don't believe the appeal of photos can possibly be overemphasized, and I don't believe I've heard anyone speaking up that LIKES it the way it is, except the owners. Does anyone LIKE not seeing pictures anymore?
