my partner likes to throw his empty gatorade bottles up at me when i'm climbing, donk off the back of the mellon does that count as a prank or cruel behaviour? although... he would probably argue it is just a non-verbal command that i am taking too long and he is out of fluids

LOL...pretty good... Gotta laugh at storing the friend's rope on batteries too. Oh well. I particularly like the zipping the chalkbag shut...or putting rocks in it...post. I gotta try that.

Actually, I already had that note to self after previous posts from BIGcrazy, so this is just a reinforcement. BIGcrazy, maybe THIS is why it took you 6 tries to finish your first-ever outdoor climb...

How 'bout those plastic adhesive backed hangers for decorating a line up your favourite under developed crag? They look just like the real thing! Great idea from Tami Knight.

I was climbing indoors on an auto-belay next to a friend who was on a different auto belay and he reached over and pulled my hand off a hold........ That was fun...................... Though..something about "pranks" and "heights" don't go well together...

You could always switch their extendable draws for hand tied EDKs

You could put glue all over their gear while mult-pitching, so when you hand it to them, it gets stuck to their hands

Rocks in the chalkbag are good... especially when they end up there due to three friends at the foot of the problem testing their aim.

Invariably when taking down holds at the wall we get on that "sticks" We often just take the bolt out and leave the hold, waiting for it's next victim. Really funny when the next guy goes to climb the route and his hold pops off! Kind of simulates the real world, doncha think? -percious

I guess if you really didn't like someone you could fill their chalkbag with lime powder (the stuff they used to line athletic fields with). That shit burns.

hahaha! I like the one where you pour grease all over the crack so that no one else can send your project. or the one where you hang ropes for TR on trade routes and leave it all day loooong. or how about tying your dog next to a "no dog" sign, then marking the routes you just climbed by pissing at its base, or you can just crap in their bouldering shoes and pad! Hilarious!!

" my partner likes to throw his empty gatorade bottles up at me when i'm climbing, donk off the back of the mellon " Next time he does that grab it in the air, take a piss in it and pour it out. This thread is cracking me up this afternoon. I am really board though.

Why stop there, throw in a few isotopes of polonium-210 in their chalk bag, that'll show em. (I have exceptionally bad taste). Bonus points if your partner was a former spy of a fascist regime.

Well the all time classic I have seen, which is totally harmless and innocent. Buddy was a chalk whore, trying out a new brand of chalk, so another buddy dumped the new chalk and replaced it with powdered sugar. He climbed for a bit and started whining about how horrible the chalk was. Then a third buddy walked up, stuck in his finger and stuck it in his mouth and said "I don't know, it tastes pretty good to me" twas funny as hell.

stuff i've done... yell to the climber when they are up about 30 ft - "oops, hold on a second". make comments about how the climber has a beautiful rear end (works best when of the same sex) pull the climber off the wall using the rope when they are climbing. funny cause they just hang there all pissed at you. stuff done to me... i was doing laps (up & down) and getting fairly tired, i'm near the top of a route, look down, partner is missing... look around, he's 1 hand grigri belaying me from 50ft away sitting down on a bench drinking a protein shake. that scared the shit out of me for half a second.

while the climber's at the crux, moving up and down, trying to hold on, figure out the moves, tell them "looking desperate!"

A climbing partner use to like tossing pebbles (when it was safe and had a clear view) into my hiking shoes left sitting upwards from the belay station. My old climbing shoes were so bad that when we rapped down and I put my shoes (hiking on) I did not notice for 45 minutes. Since then I have taken to the habit of open end of hiking shoes downwards.
