what ever happened to that pic of the bolt gun? the photo was floating around the forum a couple months ago or something. i think it was some hilti bolt gun with a clip attached to the bottom for 'rapid fire bolting.' that thing was hillarious and i was trying to show a friend, but my technological incompetence left me without the photo after some searching.

yeah it looked kind of like that, but the one i'm talking about was obviously a joke. slightly in front of the trigger guard was a clip (open sides so you could see the bolts) as though it was some rapid fire machine gun of the bolt world. i swear, i'm not making it up. it was pretty funny/cool.

HAHAHA...this is my favorite gear store joke....every time my local gear shop gets a n00b I go in and ask for a bolt gun, grappeling hook, and a pretzel gry-gry.......then they go ask the manager (who I climb with regularly) if he knows where to get the stuff. The usual answer is "Tell Bryan to F himself". My other favorite is to ask if they can order me a bunch of pitons/bolts so I can finnaly make Coopers safe.....

Cliffhanger is the worst movie I've ever seen. I've been bolting routes since 10 years and there is no bolt gun that you can use for that. Only hammer drills like Hilti, Bosch, Makita, Ryobi etc...

The more imoprtant question is, where's that section of the Rocky mountains that has the Dolomites in it. I can't find it anywhere, but while I was looking, I found some $1000 bills in the snow and a guy wearing a helicopter.

And secondly, how can you be a climber and not like Cliffhanger. It's pure awesomeness. That's like being a skateboarder and not liking Gleaming the Cube, or being a robot and not liking Short Circuit 2.

There are none. I frequently jump across chasms and then just plug and ice axe or two into the other side to stop myself. I don't understand the use of bridges. It takes so long. But I just that's the evolutions of chasm crossing. The bridge was invented before the ice axe. Not bridges are definately on their way out. Soon, cars will have ice axes on the front, and you can just drive right off one side right into the other side.
