That's right folks, once again a semester full of going climbing instead of school working has created the usual cram sessions from hell - but, this is my second last final ever, I'll be a gradiated mofo after Tuesday, living at the NRG for some unknown amount of time, and just generally being a climbing bum for as long as the climbing community can stand me! So wake up, throw the coffee on, caffeinate yourself through one last day before that weekend climbing trip, wish us finaling folks some luck, send congrats to those who've already graduated, and be liberal with the sugar! Will PS This is my first time ever starting the coffee thread - it's not an elite group, with some initiation right I've yet to go through, therefore landing me in the proverbial doghouse of rc.com, is it??? Cause a place lower than scummunity... I shudder to think

OOOooo... I love icecoffee. Is there enough to go around? Good on ya for finishing, Will. I'm finishing the semester today (been studying since 12)... for the final final... finally! Psychology of human sexualities - its not as interesting as you'd think.

If you think the psychology of human sexuality is not interesting, you should try history and english... Actually it's not that bad - enjoyable subjects, if you're going to do the whole bookworm thing - some of us were meant to be students, some of us weren't. I weren't. Putting that English degree to good use! Will

Morning all. Rain rain rain here in DC. I was up late finishing up packaging up a final document for delivery on Monday. Making copies, writing cover letter, finalizing content. Felt great to be done. Then my boss calls this morning and goes "let's change XYZ in the "final" copies." Climbing gym tonight. yay.

Right now, I am covering the polymorphous perverse Freudian infant as a theory of homosexual orientation... except that it conflicts with his other theory of penis envy (spare me)! While we're at it, I want someone to write a textbook in Ebonics to keep me on my toes. How about plain language... yeesh. if i ever counsel someone, it will be in a homey Italian restaurant over lunch. At least, that would be ideal! And yummy

" Right now, I am covering the polymorphous perverse Freudian infant as a theory of homosexual orientation..." Wahoo!!!... I'm currently cramming in a semester's worth of Biblical Archeology - for instance, was, or was not, Jerusalem a major dwelling before the time of the United Monarchy? Proof? Almost done, Will

Like so? http://links.jstor.org/...SOPAO%3E2.0.CO%3B2-S I just completed my "New Testament as Literature" English course last Friday. I loved it! My problem is that I'm too interested in everything. I have 36 units in theology, 36 in psych, and 12 in biology... I think I will end up with a double major and a minor at this rate. edit: short-term memory glitch - ha!

Similar stuff - and yep, it's pretty darn interesting - taking it as an elective, to get up enough credits to graduate. Undoubtedly the best course I've taken actually - still, my bookworm days are over, and despite actually liking the subject for a change, the time spent studying instead of the time spent climbing has made it a looong semester. Must Study!!! Will

Will, step away from the computer, go back to your books and keep reading. You'll have plenty of time for RC.com once you graduate and have a full time desk job.

I'm trying! But, most of the readings I have to do are online, or involve google searches or that gift from god Wikipedia, so I can't really leave the computer. And every time an email pops up, I can't help thinking, "man, I bet granite_grrl's (or whoever posts) post is more interesting than ancient burial practices" and I go and read, and then post, and lose more time... I'm not worried though, I've got it down well enough to pass, probably even with a B, or if I keep cramming until 11, maybe even an A. And a big fat NO is what I'm thinking about that desk job - I was lucky enough to have my father work at the university I went to, which meant a free ride - so I'm in debt, but not as bad as most college kids, and not so bad that I can't take the whole summer and maybe fall off, then bust my ass 80 hours a week for a couple of months to get paid off, and then continue the climbing bum lifestyle. As of Tuesday, I'm officially a climbing bum. Will

What you planning to do after the road trip? Or will the road trip last forever. Some people do seem to go on the road forever, but most come back to refinance themselves. I was more making a joke at my situation. I took 5 months off between school and work, which I had taken more. And now I'm sitting at a desk, working at becoming finacially stable and then hitting the road again for an indefinate amount of time. I can dream. can't I?!

You pups ;-) I can't remember what it was like to study for finals, it's been so long (1975). I'm home today, luvvin the 9/80 friday... don't care that it's raining, I'm gonna go to a couple motorcycle dealerships, sit on bikes and daydream. Made my morning cuppa before my shower, and got it perfect this time... yay unstructured time...

I won't even need to bring work home this weekend. So that's all for me. I gotta get busy. Have a good weekend everybody.

wideguy - you'd be surprised how much of wikipedia is actually ok - the trick to using it is the same trick as using mapquest, google maps, or any other internet info source - you have to take it with a grain of salt, and use your own common sense. In most articles, most of the information is good (atleast the ones I've dealt with over the last few years). Some of it is completely wacked. You should be able to tell what is absolutely wrong, soak up the good info, and back it up with atleast some knowledge of your subject matter. If you're using wikipedia to pass college - good luck. If you're using it as a summary of the mounds and mounds of crap professors dole out in lectures or textbooks - it's awesome. Off to take that final Will

Have fun with that. Morning all. Coffee would be great, thanks. Wikipedia is awesome for research. Sure, I will double check the results I get, but it is by far the best tool for referencing old subjects I never learned in detail or need to brush up on.

i'm with Rob, i can't remember what it's like to do finals and write essays. It's funny though, i still have the odd dream about exam anxiety, that i haven't been to class all sememster and i'm not prepared for class!!! nice day today think i'll break the roadbike out for a ride. got a good deal yesterday on a pair of used ski boots, exclusively for backcountry touring, woo hoo!! I sometimes climb with the women's husband i bought the boots from. I got to take a peek at their indoor climbing wall.........what a great set up. my buddy built a bouldering room, very nice indeed. He's a climbing instructor and does kiddy courses in his bouldering room!!! i am so envious

Morning. XXXXXXXXL black coffee... better hook up the IV too! Well the Vet appointment with the dog didn't go as well as I had hoped. The Dog has a feaver and a petty good infection. Started with a fvcking hot spot, then just blew up! It's really bothering him, and he's definitly suffering a bit because of it. $200 of antibiotics plus some sprays and iodine scrubs to try and get it under control. If we can't in the next few days, we'll have to sudat him to shave and clean it so it can be treated. I feel bad for him.... I'll have to leave work early to go home and clean it again too.... which means I'll have to put in atleast 3 extra hours on Monday. Ugh. Overall mood today: Today's Lack of Sleep Rating: Today's Weather:

He got a hot spot (not that uncommon I guess) we figure from some sort of food allergy and then it got infected. Might have been from scratching the hot spot? He's only about 13 months old so he still building his immune system too. I’ve never see something get so bad so fast… it doubles in size from the time I left for work yesterday to when I got home. Ugly, all weepy and gooey Hopefully I'll be able to get it under control this weekend. I'll just have to make sure I'm around to take care of the wound care stuff, which likely mean no climbing or running out to banff to pick up my boots which were warrantied

Morning all! It's an absolutely beautiful day here on the best coast. Took a walk along the bay this morning as the sun was coming up. The water was so flat it looked like a lake and the sun rising over downtown SD was absolutely gorgeous. I love it when there's no marine layer. Anyway, leg's feeling better everyday. Hoping to go for an easy bike this weekend and to enjoy the sunshine! Everyone have a fantastic day & good luck on those finals!! Brendan - take care of that pup of yours.

Two finals down, two to go! And, only one more that's actually hard. Good ole wikipedia paid off on this last one - and now, I can feel the information just oozing out of my head:) After the roadtrip I'll have to do the refinance thing, at least for a while. But I'm hoping to do it in one ridiculous several month burst of stupid long hours - I don't have a lot of debt to pay off, and the idea is to spend the next several years on the road. Will PS and yeah Microbarn, I wouldn't expect to see me at the wall much anymore - I already put the membership on hold, but may take it off again for one or two more training/socialising sessions before I split. And yes, my first destination will be the New, although I might not make it till next Monday, after the grandfolks leave town.

Good morning kids. Two tests next week, two papers and then two finals the week after. Then, thankfully, I'm done for a month or so until summer school starts. Gotta work tonight. Still need to take the dog to the groomer this afternoon. Go to the doctor for a follow-up visit and go to the community college and get a summer course schedule so that I can register for classes. I could use more sleep.
