Orsay has Degas' "Seated Woman Combing her Hair." She's nekkid. And lumpy. Degas actually did a lot of nudes. Anyway, you're right. Stupid comparison. I just like to poke fun at the people who take things so seriously here... like a photo of an attractive female, or a little cleavage. Sheesh.

Personally, I don't need to see the average girl to feel good about myself. I am one. However, when I buy a magazine, or look at a professional photo, I like to see (and this may seem shallow) good looking people. Not some man with man boobs, or some woman with a muffin top trying to hall themselves up the wall. It just doesn't work for me.
Let's face the fact. Good looking people sell products better. Also, there will always be jerks making comments about them. Hell, even if they were ugly they would still make comments. The thing is, if they are ugly most of the comments are silent, or contained to being said in front of the computer. What's more likely to be said and posted, Wow, look at that girl's ass, or Wow, what a fat ass.
However, it's kinda like porn...I don't want to see the ugly ones...ha ha! ...But hey, I might live in a different social reality than you.

Bingo. I think that is the truth and it doesn't matter how attractive you are, everyone gets a boost from a compliment. For all I know, a kind word probably makes your brain produce some sort of endorphine. If its about your climbing abiilty or your looks, or what a great job you did on a project- what IS the problem? If a guy says "hey you looked good on that move" are you really gonna get all suspicious thinking he meant your ass?
Guys are hard wired to check out women's bodies, thats the way it is. Posed she-climber porn is as obvious (and lame, and dumb) as any other porn, you and I both know its designed for a purpose. I also like my gear to look good as well as be functional. If I have to choose between functional and good looking, I'll chose the more reliable product, but if you can give me both, you can have my hard-earned money.
There are simply these social ideals of what is attractive and those ideals change from time to time, century to century, and between social groups. These aren't the days for rubenesque women. On the other hand, the most beautiful woman friend I know is a 46-yr old mom of two rowdy sons, an astonishing engineer, runs a large env'l consulting firm here, and is simply drop dead beautiful, with a curvy figure and the most translucent skin I've ever seen. Every time I see her I am struck by how luminescent she looks. For 12 years, she's been stunning. *Sigh* Anyways. I digress.
If I ever pull down hard enough to deserve a compliment, I would be stoked for propz. Until then, I guess I'll take what I can get, so go ahead, you can compliment my ass pretty much anytime.

I am the Chef as well. And a good one at that. However, my wife is so spoiled by the cooking that literally the thought of making something out of a can is beneath her.
Some nights I work late and it will be 11pm and I'll get a call or text, when are you coming home, I need to eat.
I'll write back, eat cereal or something out of the pantry (cereal, canned soup, etc). She writes back, you cook, I eat and clean.
