Good looking people

Can't Post

I was thinking today about a guy I met a couple years ago at a crag. I was climbing with a very attractive young lady who also happens to be a good climber. She is/was not my girlfriend.

Anyway, the guy I met was friendly, cool, and told us that if we were back up that way again, we could crash at his place.

Another time, myself and a different hot young blonde, also a good climber, gave a little area beta up at Lover's Leap to a couple traveling climbers.

We saw them later on in the bar. Turned out the guys were chaco reps. They gave us each a pair of free chacos. We hung out and drank beers for a bit, and they left a little before us. I went to pay our bill later, and the guys had already covered it without telling us! This was for dinner and and a bunch of beers. Super nice.

Anyway, those are the two stories that stand out the most about people being cool and generous to me while out climbing, but not the only ones.

And it got me thinking... I don't think I get the red carpet rolled out like that unless I'm with a hottie! Good looking people really do have it easier!

I think I need to get back to climbing more with hot chicks. The perqs are hard to beat!

When you're good looking, doors open themselves for you! I remember being a little kid and doors would just open for me. It turns out I was using those automated doors but that's not the issue here. The issue is something having to do with bowling. And being really, really good looking and having gasoline fights!

Its actually a fact, I can show you countless experiments where attractive people have more advantages in set up situations than less attracting people. For example, there's lots of research on this issue, but attractive people get off much easier in mock trials than less attractive people in the same situations. On a similar note, women get off easier than men, even in mock situations where the amount of evidence is substantially more for the woman. There's lots of research out there that more than suggest that attractive people do get many benefits (atleast in Western cultures, don't know of any research outside of the Western context). So your conclusion is not unwarranted in the least bit, its all but fact.

I'm not a hottie (except to fetishists), but I'm not totally unattractive. I think where I really score is that I am tiny, and people seem disarmed by that. They also want to feed me.

When I think about it, it's actually kinda condescending. But whatevs, free food is free food.

"Actually the door opened because you stepped on that black rubber mat...of course if that wasnt there the doors would have opened anyway because your good looking..."

(I think family guy has an episode relevant to most issues discussed on RC.com...)

I'll be in colorado for the RRR but I'll be at the New for their Rendezvous for sure.

Another 'good-looking-people' quote:

"I realize now that there is more to life than being really really ridiculously good-looking..."

"Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features, it doesn't mean that we too can't not die in a freak gasoline fight accident. "

I know someone already brought up the Zoolander reference, I figured I'd run with it Laugh

I don't know about that... I'm a pretty ugly dude and I get off real easy. Much easier than the women I've known.

Studies show that 90% of a man's attractiveness to women is derived from his cocky eyebrows.
