Keep an eye out for it. We should have checked it you last time we were down there Jay. Next time we might have to pass on your gumbo so we can check it out. We'll get you there next time, Rebecca, fo sho. Funny you should mention that... I was thinking that Jay's Beenie Weenie was derishous!! Best eats at the New!

Sweet, I grew up in Hood River and my parents still live there. I'll be checking it out for sure. Any more info? I'll agree with whoever said Terebonne Depot. I also like McMinnamins Pub in Bend. I also just had fish tacos and pizza at the Mobil station in Lee Vining. That was pretty good.

I haven't made beenie weenie in a while. Every time I read it, I wonder if I should change the name. "Beenie weenie," does NOT adequately describe it.

Holy shit guys, you missed the most important one! SANTANA's Mexican food in Joshua Tree. It's open 24 hours, it's dirt cheap and can be fantastic (if you know what to order). Get the Super Nacho's Carne Asada, $6.00 and theres no way in hell you'll finish it. Just avoid the sour cream, thats really the only caveat.

The Calm Post Cafe is the climbers hangout and place to eat near Rumney on weekends now. They serve great breakfast, lunches and dinners Friday night through Sunday morning. The food is great, much of it locally raised and organic. Friday nights there is usually a BBQ and you can bring beer from the village store down the road and hang out around the fire. Best of all, you can leave your car in the Rumney parking lot and walk the 100 yards down the rd to get to it.. no need to drive, and the Camera's camping is right across the street. I think Katie starts serving at 7:30 am and stops around 7:00pm, but you can still hang out in the hammocks and cool handmade wooden benches. The seating is all outside, but there is a tent to get under if it is raining.

Ok, I'm not doing this to be pretentious, but I've had a phenomenal run of luck in Europe with tiny, out of the way places. Chalet Jobert-- Larchant (near Elephant-- and ok, this place is fairly famous) Groebenhof --Fulpmes, Stubaital. Unreal Tirolian food, locals come up from Innsbruck just for the food, first time in ages Ive had fresh buttermilk. Pizza Stadion-- Selva/Wolkenstein (near Sella). Get the homemade schluetzer or knoedeltrice and the pizza speck with the cheap grauvernatsch. Cali doesn't really have any climbing adjacent eateries I like as much as those three. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Although I always hit Jacks for rest day breakfast on the east side..

RIP Pete's Campground in Hueco Tanks. Best gorditas ever. Combo it with a Sheaf Stout and you are in business.... Lately, the Lumbermill in Idyllwild (post climb) Red Kettle in Idyllwild (pre-climb)

E-rock - the snow cone stand in the parking lot (and coopers barbecue) J-tree - Santana's Mexican food the 1lb burrito for 3.50 is amazing North Shore (MN) Fitzgers Brew house Red Rocks - the red rocks casino (the mexican food is great) Yos - curry village pizza deck (or the all you can steal) Reimers/Austin climbing - Magnolia's (try the mag mud) I'm not sure if I miss the days when we went out to eat after every day of climbing, or if I'm happier now that I climb so much that I can't afford it.
