My personal opinion is that once a route goes without pins, it should never be hammered ever again.

Notice that I didn't say freed. I don't care if it's aiding or freeing it, you should not put any pins where a cam or good nut go.

FWIW, WTOK has no sign of pin scars but will probably have Paul's blood on it for a long time to come.

well, I took the definition of "redpoint" to include the many points of red blood that I left in the crack, so yeah, I redpointed it.

no, in reality I did not send it. Got close on a final go, took a couple whips that lifted clausti ten feet up, but no success. Weather and school work have forced me to put it on hold until this spring, and I hope I am still in shape for it by then.

WTFOK is stl lngr 4me.

This is indeed a very strange and misinformed thread. I have been climbing in Red River Gorge since 1973 and pitons are just not used. The aid FA was in 1988 so I think it can safely be assumed "clean" aid was used and that this line was not originally intended as a nail up.

I was referring to his blud that was already up there. Not any future blood.

Though it could go either way, he's got the skin of a historian.

actually, the last two times I got on it I did not bleed teh real bloodz.

Most of the massive slaughter took place on that first run, from which the "bloody ringlock" got its name.

Granite Girl told me that Olivier got on it in November, though, and the blood was still there. hehe.
