got a pair last week...pretty interesting shoe, very unique feeling when they're on your feet. you definitely need strong toes to use them, though. look for a review at some point from one of the new booty crew!

Wow, way to be an ass. Seriously, I posted it in a hurry, and the apostrophe was done in reflex. Sorry I didn't care enough to go back and fix it.

I'm curious about this shoe as well. Five ten fit my feet best but they seem to be playing catch up with some of the ergonomic high end shoes from other brands. Do they have a flat sensitive toe like the Mythos' toe or a dowturned-but -soft one like the Testarossa's toe?

I love it. With this site there seems to be a group of people who think they are better that everyone else. Internet anonymity makes people believe it's okay to be rude to everyone. I asked about a pair of shoes and made a simple typo, and now its become this online debate on who the bigger asshole is. Grow up people...now I'm sure I'm about to get a bunch of flames for this, but people such as Angry and Jt need to realize that just because you have 6k+ posts doesn't make you the god of Rc.com, and that politeness goes along way.

I don't think its Asperger Syndrome. From my experience, albeit limited, I think he just communicates too well - even if it is in an online forum. Regardless, I think it's funny as hell and this place would be boring and much more annoying without him.

I believe the 1st one is more in "Line" Hitler was one of the best known . His lack of concern of how others "view" him proves this. I think I'll change my username to jt513 just to 1 up him. I confused myself - would that be a.b.c.d. and 1 up him? He really should be more clear - jt512 or jt512a ? Now I don't know what to do!

You should really use the serial comma. Consider the following example, from a dedication in a book: "I would like to thank my parents, Mother Teresa and the pope."

In reply to: You guys are confused. It's really quite simple: I like making fun of stupid people. Jay Where do you draw the line on stupid? You could easily visit under privileged communities where educational opportunities are borderline non-existent because of a whole host of reasons, and make fun of teens using improper English. Then again, you may enjoy making fun of the developmentally challenged. I get my rockets off making fun of down syndrome kids. You should try it. There really isn't anything better than an unfair fight. We need a new thread moderation color that indicates a thread will be moderated based on grammar. That way, when I feel like spraying on the interwebs, I don't have to worry about what I didn't learn in high school and college.

No, just a coma for everyone previously involved in this thread. See what I did there! It rhymes. I should have used a word like 'sleepa' and just slant rhymed. It would be more degenerate, or creative; you choose. Either way I would expect JT512 to be an ass, and criticize it. Maybe I should have just said something painfully mind numbing and inflammatory to keep the thread moving. I could have used a term like 'gaysexual', or could have brought up politic viewpoints on failing educational systems that leave people prey to JT512 criticism. :( It would have been more appropriate since we are talking about the Five Ten Projects.

No, Jay, you crossed the line. You're an asshole. It's a two line internet post, not a professional dissertation or job interview. It's a shame that with your "superior intellect" that you can't find something better to do. Instead, you reduce rc.com to nothing more than swear words and idle insults. Oh, and if you read your last post you'll find a punctuation error.

It's particularly interesting because you can clearly read the words "stealth onyx" right on the sole of the 5.10 Copperhead shoe that is pictured. Again, these shoes DO NOT have the new Mystique rubber. Curt

While belaying me he noticed that he does hold the brake strand of the rope with his guide hand when sliding his brake hand up the rope when he senses that the climber might fall. That's better than never doing it, at least. Jay

The latter has the most badassily balanced brown ale - Downtown Brown. Oh and.. rar rar rar the Projects wargble wargble wargble You suck/I'm cool wah wah wah

I have the 2mm Mystique rubber on my 5.10 Daescent approach shoes. I have had them for about 3 months and have done lots of climbing in them--on some of the sharpest rock on the planet (Oak Flat, AZ) and there is absolutely no visible wear on the soles yet. That is what is so amazing about the Mystique rubber--it is far stickier than any other rubber, but (according to 5.10) it wears 5 to 8 times longer than other climbing shoe rubber. And no, I have no idea how they achieved this combination. Curt

The Zappos page is ready for FAILblog.org : -2 mm thick Stealth® Mystic™ outsole which is a brutally tough rubber that is designed to be lightweight, abrasion resistant, durable and the highest in friction. -The picture clearly shows the shoes have Onyx soles. There is a video on spadout.com of a FiveTen rep saying the copperheads have the Mystique rubber as well. Maybe they intended to have the mystique, but went back and used onyxx instead?

curt wrote: That is what is so amazing about the Mystique rubber--it is far stickier than any other rubber, but (according to 5.10) it wears 5 to 8 times longer than other climbing shoe rubber. That would be especially miraculous from a marketing standpoint. Those of us who cared about such things have had 2 and 3mm soles available for years. I used to regularly have an appropriate pair of shoes ground thin, just because of the improvement in sensitivity and feel. Ironically, one of the places it can make the most difference is in a stiffer pair of shoes that you'd use on dimes. It's been years since I've bothered. I'll reserve judgment on the friction claims. Most of my climbing now is on rock that doesn't have anywhere near the texture of Queen Creek or JTree, and so the differences in rubber are far less noticeable than when I was a SoCal local. In any event, five ten doesn't make a shoe that fits me, aside from Mocs, so I'll wait until they bring the new jeebus to those.
