the sling of the SLCD? clip directly into your SLCD - eliminate an extra link...

I bet you also don't use your that extra link on your harness, the belay loop.

Just do like the manufacturers advise and clip the sling.

hmmm, you got me thinking... I'll check the papers that came with my camalots, thanks. but I always thought that one wholesome piece of sling between you and your anchor is better than 2 slings with a biner between them especially on wandering routes where that by chance that biner could open against the rock... In that case I would always clip both biners - the racking one and the one on a draw.

you'll find that the ratings of your cams drop 2kn if you dont clip into the sling- the smaller contact area is what does it, i believe. the slings are, believe it or not, there for a reason.

Furthermore, you want more "sling" on wandering routes, not less.

And clipping both 'biners?! Overkill, IMO. Too much time for leader and cleaner.
