They do make dynamic daisy chains. They are called via ferrata lanyards. Such lanyards are designed to withstand a fall and act dynamically. If you get the "tear away stitching" style of lanyard you can rest on them without them deploying. I don’t know how practical they are in aid but it’s just a thought.

Doesn't really do the same thing as a daisy chain, most notably because you can't short clip via ferrata easily

Yeah, I didn't mean anything specifically, but something like that would work, as long as you don't mind the extra couple of inches on the daisy chain, I think something like that could be usefull (i've personally never fallen dirrectly onto a daisy chain, but if you are someone who does, it seems like a good idea).

Just a quick thought there (hoping I am not completely off to the side): Given the overall length of a daisy, even using dynamic material like a regular climbíng rope would not help because the short overall length does not allow the material to provide its dynamic characteristics to an extent that would really be helpful. Remember that falls only a few feet above the last bolt are the "hardest" due to this fact. This is also the reason why the special via ferrata brakes as shown in some posts have been introduced.
