They do make dynamic daisy chains. They are called via ferrata lanyards. Such lanyards are designed to withstand a fall and act dynamically. If you get the "tear away stitching" style of lanyard you can rest on them without them deploying. I don’t know how practical they are in aid but it’s just a thought.

How the hell can you consider a via ferrata lanyard to be a daisy chain. Do you even know what a diasy chain is?

Doesn't really do the same thing as a daisy chain, most notably because you can't short clip via ferrata easily

Yeah, I think what you would really want is something like a reusable screamer on the daisy (something like that freaking energy absorber) that won't stretch under body weight, but will absorb energy once activated.

and as for the 7 or 8 mm rope mentioned earlier by someone else, I was just joking around about 7/8 mm rope since that was what was written.

you mean the Kong Kisa?

pretty much what you described, would add a little height and I'm not sure if it would slip under bounce testing. they also make this the slyde which is supposed to work for a adjustable tether but if you fall will slip dynamically.

Yeah, I didn't mean anything specifically, but something like that would work, as long as you don't mind the extra couple of inches on the daisy chain, I think something like that could be usefull (i've personally never fallen dirrectly onto a daisy chain, but if you are someone who does, it seems like a good idea).

Just a quick thought there (hoping I am not completely off to the side):

Given the overall length of a daisy, even using dynamic material like a regular climbíng rope would not help because the short overall length does not allow the material to provide its dynamic characteristics to an extent that would really be helpful. Remember that falls only a few feet above the last bolt are the "hardest" due to this fact. This is also the reason why the special via ferrata brakes as shown in some posts have been introduced.
