oooo I played with my new BD sabertooths yesterday... since there is not much snow at San jac but lots of ice I figured I'd practice with them... I am pigeon toed and am pretty convinced the my first order of business with my crampons will be shoving the toe spike through my opposite leg (thus the desire to practice using them a bit)
Can I be sold bold as to reccomend cheap canvas gaiters?

already have gaitors... also have a few pairs of pants with extra burly material on the inner legs...

I still think I have the ability to run a spike into my leg... I'm talented like that.

You too?? What the carp!

You folks do realize those mountains are cold and covered in snow, right??

pretty bad

It was mostly either dirt or ice. When we did get to the snow it ranged from hardpack to thin icy crust that would break and send you postholing to your knee to thigh... snowshoes would have helped that, but it was really patchy... It really could use several feet of new snow

You could also look at it as the best ice season in decades. Summer approaches to awesome ice.

hmmm so I need a new jorb...

I really want the fancy pants long shot job the MIGHT come up... but can't exactly count on it...

trouble is I really want to find a place that is more flexible on occasionally working remotely. Not really sure though how to go about finding those rare companies.

hmmmmm

In my experience, find the companies with world-class reputations. Those are the companies that hire good, smart people who know how to manage their time. As a result, those companies tend to have better work conditions because they can trust their employees to do good, quality work.

I'm not saying only world-class institutions are like that, but most tend to be like that. And by world-class, I don't mean world-famous; I mean high-quality, standards-pushing organizations.

I don't know of any in SD, though, so good luck.

yeah there are a few here known for their great working conditions... but they still haven't adopted the idea that sometimes allowing employees to work remotely can be a really good thing... They are definitively on the list still, but I would loooove to find a job like my bf's... mostly he works in the office, BUT if he wants to run off someplace and not use up all his vacation time he can just work from wherever he is.

My friend had a pretty killer job for awhile... his company would send everyone (small company) to some other country for a month every year to "help boost creativity and free thinking"

my final years in the corporate world were at a hospital in finance. if one wanted to work remotely from time-to-time it was allowed. It was really easy on snow days, but other people had a once-per-week day when they worked from home. It worked really well.

I never liked working from home. I don't like working when at home, so I didn't want to feel obligated to work at home or on the weekends at times.

Ballcupping. There's a bunch of it that happens here.

Oh, and the men's winner happens to be none other than our very own (well, the B_ETard) chossmonkey [/CdB].

1 - not a lot of ballcupping in here, so I assume you mean over there.

2 - if you had watched the video you'd know that your second paragraph was redundant to the info at hand.

3 - I only just figured out what CdB means.

Setting routes at the gym here now. Hoping to get free climbing out of it.

climbing more now as a result, even if just inside. Outside has been tough lately because it's been raining the past ten days. Such is life in this particular city.
