I've always wanted to buy a dehydrator. Never got the chance, however.

Been drawing a lot lately. Having fun. Drew my room three times before it looked better (technically correct), but all my friends preferred the first drawing (less technically correct) because it simply looked more like art. This is good news.

So what have you been dehydrating? How's the pasta sauce dehydrated? Have you tried that yet?

Went climbing today. Had a good day. We stayed in the shade for the most part, and it helped that the area we were climbing in was a few hundred feet higher above sea level than Curitiba is. Curitiba gets really freaking hot in the sun. Sao Luis do Puruna, the pace we went to today, was nice and cool.

I know folks who dehydrate a lot of things that come with water in them so that they can just add water back while they are camping. Makes for good meals.

On another note: http://us.moo.com/.../facebook-cards.html <-- these are free. you only pay for shipping, and the shipping isn't that much apparently. I haven't done it (and not sure I will), but my gf, who is a communications professor, printed some out to discuss in her marketing class. They came out really nice. She got 50 cards for about R$4.00, which is about US$2.25. You can customize them in a lot of different ways. Really professionally done, front and back.

Ha! Consumerism at its finest. In a new world where you're the product. Yes, that's right. They're selling you. And allowing them to access everything? Seriously? I'm sticking to my already tried and trusted methods. Email; slide shows; photo blog; and for those old school types: A simple raised-print and embossed business card.

yeah my dehydrator came with a really great book full of ideas. It even has a section about backpacking foods Tongue I think I will probably try setting up a dried pasta sauce soon, but want to try my had at the jerky and fruit leathers first

Well I scored an in person interview...

WOO!

I have homework though for it

BOO!

but I guess I like that setup better (doing a coding assignment, then discussing it in the interview) rather than going in blindly not knowing what will be talked about.

Yeah, that's part of the reason why I'm really skeptical about it, but they looked pretty nice. My gf plans to use the cards in her classes as a demonstration of somethingorother.

It sure sucks to lurk with all you slackers. Mad

I am off to Colorado on Saturday for a week. Not planning on any climbing as I will be travelling with the wife, but we will spend the first few days at a cousins house at the foot of the Indian Peaks Wilderness, so I am bringing my three pin XC boots and using her recently deceased husbands boards and poles to explore some of their 600 or so acres.

Meaghan is going with us, so she and I will prolly head into Boulder to hit one of the gyms for a day. She was just offered (yesterday) a position teaching math at the Denver School of Science and Technology, so mid week we will be scoping out apartments and she will get to meet her future coworkers. She will move out to begin teaching summer school end of June, once her current school year of teaching ends. If our house ever sells, my wife and I will be moving out to somewhere near Boulder, but we have no idea when that will happen with the current housing market.

End of the week we have plans to hit up Colorado Springs where Meaghan will be judging for the USA Climbing Adult Bouldering Nationals; This is a precursor to her being the Head Judge for Difficulty at next years Junior Nationals. I was also offered a judging position for Adult Nationals, but didn't want to leave my wife alone for the duration; we will tool around Garden of the Gods instead because I have never been there.

I haven't had a vacation in almost two years, so I am super psyched to get away from the two major projects that I have nearing completion. God, I need those two final checks!

We use ours mostly for drying tomatoes, culinary herbs, and assorted fruits. Pineapple is da bomb!

I was recently given a deer hide which I scraped and de-haired, then made a 20" octagonal shamans drum. I just bought some paint to decorate it with this motif from the Cave of the Hands in Argentina. Should be fun, and the drum sounds absolutely awesome!

Yeah, congrats to Meg for that. Well done.

If you'll be at that comp in the Springs then you'll probably meet your favorite climber in the world, Jeremiah. hehe. He's pretty active in the community there. Give him a chance. He's a nice guy if you meet him.

GoTG is pretty cool to walk around. The climbing generally sucks (and you need a registered guide to climb there anyway), but there are a few cool routes that I've enjoyed.

Adult Nationals isn't worth it, but you know that already.
