Iīm guessing you are smaller, older and wimpier than USNavy so there is more chance of beating some sense into you before we start climbing. On the other hand I could just tie the rope around USīs neck with a complicated knot, without internet access he woudnīt be able to untie it so would have to toe the line.

Well heck... Is it even worth asking? Majid, any day of the week. Just to pick his brain, by which I mean I very much suspect his RC persona is a shtick and he actually knows far more than he lets on.
But when you get right down to it, I'm mostly motivated by my stomach. I suspect being stuck with USN would mean soy lattes and powerbars, while the pics Majid posted a while back of the Kaleh Pacheh they made at base camp looked fantastic (if you don't mind a sheep head floating in your soup ).

As I've said before, I'm totally going to take you up on the guided tour of the ME once the US is no longer persona non grata out that way. Beautiful country, great people and, most importantly, great food. Only gripe I have is lack of beer, but the tea and coffee more than make up for it.
EDIT- That didn't come out right... What I mean is that Governments don't always speak for their people, which results in policies that make life difficult for everyone involved. Way I figure cultural exchange is the best way to solve these sorts of issues, but no one listens to me...
On a loosely related note- any hints on tabouleh? Making it for a BBQ tomorrow and the bulgur always seems to come out undercooked compared to what I would get in Dearborne (Note to most everyone else- Dearborne, MI has the 2nd largest Arab population outside of the ME. Apparently Henry Ford found them to be hard workers and brought them over by the boatload. Not sure I like that wording, but that's what they said on the tour at the Henry Ford Museum... ).
EDITx2- Actually, on second thought tabouleh is more of a Lebanese dish, isn't it? I grew up working with a bunch of Syrians, so my concept of ME food might be a bit biased. Always amazes me how much the food changes over such small distances out that way.

ME food is like ME girls, you need to watch out what you getting. they could be tasty in the beginning but poison at the end. As far as kaleh pacheh, they serve it early in the morning and I remember once right after I got in from Germany, they drove me straight in to fresh kaleh pacheh restaurant and yammmmiiiiiii
