You lost me pretty quick back there but I got the basic message, I have underestimated the dificult job you guys are doing, you dont dont have to try to explain it to me I trust you if you say its not worth the hassle. BTW you coders and admins are doing a great job, the site is looking and running better than ever. Les

Tim, interesting table. But why are pics worth so much? I mean relative to the routes database. A "5" pic is worth as much as a climbing area? That seems a little skewed. While I'm onto pics, seeing the same, albeit fantastic, pics on the front page gets a little old after a while. Could there be a system whereby pics automatically start losing percentages after a period of time? Maybe there could be a maximum 10% loss? Maybe it could be tied to the date of the last vote on that pic? I dunno, just brainstorming. I'll second Les. Thanks to all of you!

I think one way a person's worth to the site could be measured would be by how many people read his stuff. A better measure of worth is not what you write, but rather how much of what you write is actually read by others. Of course, with many people on a single page, I have no idea how to measure this!

Thanks for clearing that up Tim, I've been wondering about how exactly the points were made.

complicated, really complicated... OK for points for articles and routes, why not for pictures, but for forums? I don't know. It may not be important in fact.

Quote: Does this mysterious coder have a name? I'm Tim. There's another guy named Eric, and there used to be a guy named Trevor, only he had a kid and went to business school. Hey now - I've written code for the site as well.. It's been a while, now - but I did. (Among other things, I started re-adding the .sig's to PM's/forum posts, but never did finish that one) - d.
