This next one's been tweaked to within an inch of its life, but I just wanted to see what I could do with what was, to be honest, a pretty non-descript scene.

As it came out of the camera:

BTW, I spent ages trying to work out what the hell sort of animal that skeleton came from. Eventually worked out that it's a rabbit. What threw me is that the head is actually rotated 180 degrees both vertically and horizontally relative to the rest of the body (ie. upper teeth are at top left). The lower jaw is sitting underneath, facing in the other direction (ie. teeth under the skull, on the right).

Little guy really copped it!

Been busy with weddings and paid gigs, but taking a break from editing Ballet (will try to post some of that before long) and weddings for a little bit of RMNP nature stuff. If you want a preview of teh estes park wedding I shot while out there, find it on facebook, and for the other weddings and couples, etc lately, there is the blog, http://www.wtallenphotography.com/blog

Great pics everyone. Wes, your nature shots look great. I especially like the vibrant colors of the wide lake shot. Was that done in post processing or was it out of the camera like that?

I finally got my GF1 and shot a few pics and a ton of video at the Hound Ears Bouldering competition this weekend.

I know this Pic isn't up to the standards of some of the other shots in this thread. However, in my mind the $1k I dropped is justified with this shot alone(Ketchup stains and all). My old point and shoot would have been hopeless with this back lit picture.

Here are some other shots I got as well.

Just the usual post stuff, nothing crazy. Pretty sure I had a circ. polarizer on, since the reflections on the lake are kinda reduced along with the darker skies. Shoot in the middle of the day.

More, fun, but crappy video, http://vimeo.com/6862537 300f4 + 1.4 TC, and rode ntg-3. Still picked up a lot of background noise behind me, but it did better then I thought it would with the elk.

Some estes park wedding photos and some ballet up on my blog, http://www.wtallenphotography.com/blog

Damn fine work!

What kind of lens/settings did you use for that last picture of the first couple. The perspective on his leg is really cool, but it doesn't seem to be a wide angle lens. Really small aperture + flash?

Thanks much! Not sure which photo, but I usually leave the EXIF attached, so you can see the settings if you want, no problem. Plus, I use a lot of off camera lighting as well.

After a long hiatus, starting off the new year right.

Been lucky enough to maximize my weekends, and swing 3.5 days off every week...

that said, the stone just started rolling and inertia should get things going in earnest. Up till this weekend it was shaping up to be a fabulous winter for the first time in a few years. We got a late start but sustained cold, and decent (though not deep) snow cover was looking good. A little melt out this weekend (40s) but we are hanging on!

Looks like no one's posted in awhile... so some refresh.. Its a little different than the photos I've seen on this thread and the sizing is probably way off since this is my first time AND no post processing done. Still haven't bought a software. So its just the photo as is.

Please let me know what you think!

I've been trying and trying to improve my knowledge and skill. I've finally gotten to a point where I can semi-confidently use full manual. Here's my results from yesterday... Let me know your thoughts, good or bad.

I haven't done any editing to these.

I'm currently using a Kodak 1012z
