Being strong is awesome........climbing has really helped me in that area. I live in a matchbox sized oven. I bought an AC for this oven recently (they are on sale in winter), anyhow.... my girlfriends were saying how I should get a man to help me, take the AC up the 4 flights of stairs that lead to my apt., and how I could never do it by myself. Later that evening, my best friend (a girl), marveled as I lugged it up all four flights, by my lonesome, and then installed it in the window. Who-a baby!!! -R. 8)

Yep-- happens alot at work where it is me and an office of over weight women and one guy (who acts like one of the girls most of the time). I am out hauling boxes in a skirt and heels, while others look on or tell me to wait for the one male in the office-- or worse yet-- try to help and pick up one tiny thing at a time... I actually don't mind-- I get a grip, back, and balance work out all in one!!! Better than working on the computer any day!!! Rebekah

I may not be a woman but I see where your all coming from cos at school I WAS considered a geek people didn't even know I started climbing. now a year on people still think I'm a weak poof even though I slammed a "hardcore" gang member in an arm wrestle and beat his ass up and down school when he tried to attack me for beating him in said arm wrestle  and I love peoples reactions when they see me exercising by using just my arms to climb up the 30 foot drain pipe outside the gym :D
