In the recent thread in which we all discussed vegetarianism, I thought this was kind of funny. "Vegetarian - that's an old Indian word meaning 'lousy hunter.'"--Andy Rooney

Actually, it's an old indian word meaning, "regular elimination", or one who displays the powers of such. Opposite of "big belly man"

I awlays thought it meant "those who eat vegetables", but now that i think about it, that would be an "herbivore". :?

this is kind of mean... but at my school there was a no meat day or whatever it was called, and someone put up posters that said "dear hippies, for every animal you don't eat i'll eat three." i just thought that it was kind of funny

I'm not a vegetarian because I like animals, I'm a vegetarian because I hate plants.

And since nobody posted it here, I will go ahead and say it... If God did not want us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat. P.S. See the squirrel in my signature? Ya ever have spaghetti sauce with squirrel meat in it? I did just after this little bastard tried to get tough with me.

That squirrel would have whipped up on you. Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to leap tall people in a single bound.

I would be a vegetarian if it weren't for my nearly constant cravings for human flesh.

ackshully, I'm only half- vegetarian. I still eat seafood; tuna, shrimp, oyster, etc... seafood is just too damn good to pass up. In fact, I think I'm going to start eating dolphins as well. Let's see how fucking intelligent you are on my fucking dinner plate, you opposable thumb-lacking saltmonger! In fact, hell, I just might think twice about eating a cow, providing that it died in the ocean. oh, and here's a tongue twister for ya'll. What do you say when you want to demand Mexican food made from the unborn? FEED US FETUS FAJITAS! yeah.
