Subaru Legacy wagon, 2000 Blue 60,000 HWY miles. Wanna buy it? Great car, should have never sold my Westi seeing that I sort of live out of the Sub. Can't seem to stay inside even in winter and have issues paying rent etc.. Great car, I don't know what I am talking about.

1988 Isuzu pickup, 125k miles, 23-28mpg (city-hwy) I graduated from college (civil engineering) this past fall and am debating on getting a vehicle. On one hand, I like not having a $400/month note (more climbing gear!), but on the other hand the Isuzu is a bit slow moving and has almost no ground clearance (think ruts). If I got something new, I think I'd go with another little pickup truck (good cargo space, good terrain ability, good gas mileage) but what I really want is a Jeep Wrangler. I have Jeep envy REAL BAD, the things are very useful for my hobbies (backpacking, climbing, etc) and they are rather cute while still being manly (unlike the New Beetle, which is cute but gay as all get out). Topless is the only way to go. Bryan

'93 Ford Explorer. Yeah, I know S.U.V.s are bad and all that, but when I bought it, I was hauling dj gear, kids... all sorts of shite through rural New England winters, and I loved the 4WD and the space. Now I live in Colorado where I haul climbing gear, camping gear, kids, and all sorts of shite through Colorado blizzards. I still love the 4WD and the space. :-p

'95 Toyota 4-Runner 175k. Goes through a lot of gas but when you split it four ways on the way to the crag, it's not so bad. :D

I have a '94 Chrysler convertible, 50k, and if it's a sunny day outside (which is 400 days a year here in Arizona), I'll be the one arriving at the crag with a 7 foot 'fro! Marilyn

'86 Isuzu Ghetto Rover 4WD thing (Trooper II ????). Very simple machine. Very plain. No frills. It reminds me of the air-cooled Volkswagens from the Good Old Days. There isn't even a switch in the door to turn the dome light on. I can shift it into 4WD on the run (the owners manual would disagree . . . ) And the turning radius is very small. Nice. I just wish the Germans would sell something like this again. I HATE working on Japanese cars. Der deutsche ubergestalt fur der kar designen ist macht gut! Heil Herr Doktor Doktor Professer Porsche!

98 Honda Accord EX, 5-sp manual. 86 Ford F250 Diesel, 4-sp manual, 4X4, limited slip, etc. 240,000 miles and still running great, can’t seem to wear it out. I like economy; therefore I am on the list for a Yamaha FJR1300. It's supposed to get 30+mpg. An added plus is it will get me to my crag in a much shorter time than my truck which means I will be able to climb more.

1970 Jeepster Commando rustbucket 2000 Saab 9-3 Viggen Can't seem to get rid of the Jeep, even though last time I tried to take it over 50 (it's a 3 speed) the windshield popped IN and landed in my lap. I probably still have it because I hate myself on some level for driving a Saab... I'm with Curt though, getting to the crags fast is a big plus.

I just recently got a new vehicle, well new to me. For the last 3 years I've been driving an 1989 ford taurus, color-rust. When I got it, it had 130,000 miles on it. When I finally put it out of its misery a couple weeks ago it had 200,468 miles on it, and the motor was still going strong. Unfortunatly the body was falling apart around it. It was your typical crag car, beat to hell, brakes were shot, gas guage didn't work, light buckets were proped up with paper shims, the heater core had a leak, ect. I finally drove it up to my buddies junkyard and put it out of its misery. As I watched it get crushed down to about 1 foot tall, I was almost sad to see it go, almost. Now I got me a hell of a crag vehicle. 1997 ford E-150 Mark III conversion van. This thing rocks! I can fit 6 of my climbing buddies and enough gear to do a 2 week big wall, with room to spare! As we're driving to the mountains my buddies in the back can put in a dvd, sit back and relax. I even wired in a wireless headphone system so the driver can listen to the radio, and those waching a movie in the back can listen to the movie without the driver hearing it. For next winters ice climbing, I have a RV furnace thats going in, and battery banks to power it all. No more trying to dry ropes in the confines of a car for me! :D
