You know, it's funny. It occured to me that I haven't nicked myself in probably 5-8 years (haven't been shaving that long, I guess). I use the Mach 3, but I don't think that's it. I looooooooove the smooth leg action. Sometimes Ipurposely get a little stubbly so I can enjoy skin against skirt feeling after fresh shaving. Weeee.

I am a male college sprinter and cyclist. I have a good reason for shaving my legs. You ever tried wearing a speedsuit or lycra with burly leg hair? Mine approaches 2 inches long if I let it grow out. It sticks through the speedsuit and looks nasty. Plus it ruins the silhouette: smooth, muscular sleek body, legs with a fro- just doesn't look good. Cycling its the aforementioned rash protection. Climbing, I scrape my knees on everything. I have been told it looks better. Now ladies, I have no problem shaving my ankles, knees, calves, quads, but in the 5 years I have been shaving my legs, I have always had bad razorburn on the backs of my thighs. I have tried every conceivable solution, changing the razor direction, orientation, women's shaving gel, women's razor, baby oil, anti-itch lotion, everything. Any cures for that?

For the razor burn, have you ever tried Tend Skin? I've yet to try it, but a male friend of mine swears by it. Its fairly pricey in the mall stores, but eBay seems to be cheaper so there *must* be able to find it less elsewhere.

I shave all the time because I hate stubble. I have that naturally golden skin that seems tough as leather. I never get nicks. I've noticed others with "white" skin that always struggle with nicks. It might just be your skin type.

Waxing, it's all about waxing. It's expensive (if you don't live in a metropolis), but it lasts a long time and it doesn't get all stubly and itchy (yuck!) That said, if you insist on shaving you should try some shave creams from www.lush.com. They are incredible (my husband uses them) and smell great too. Oh, and always use a new blade or new razor. He also has been using this new razor that vibrates and he says it gives him a way closer shave. I don't know how it would work for legs, but I imagine well.
